"I think I speak for everyone outside of America when I say NOBODY CARES!"
Then why did you read a thread called "The USA Goldrush Is On"? I understand that the American Olympic results may not interest you. So, just don't read the FPP. The fact is, you choose what converstations (or threads) to take part in. If you are not interested move on instead of telling people to talk about something else.
"The supposed greatest democracy in the world is being beaten by communists. HAHAHA!" Did you say something about a distinct lack of class?

Iron City Blues To protest more than a decade of ownership mismanagement, they launched a Web site, IrateFans.com, and organized a "Fans for Change" walkout after the third inning of a home game. Unfortunately, only a few hundred fans who left their seats actually left the game; most just got up to get beer.
After 15 years, we Bucs fans aren't asking for miracles. We just want what came so easily to the pre-2004 Red Sox, the post-1908 Cubs, and the other great losing teams of all time: sympathy.

I'm actually coming out of my boycott this year because the Buccos actually invested in some of their talent this offseason. They didn't hand out crazy Jason Kendall-like contracts. With new management all the way up the line and what looks to be like some sound investing, they just might turn the corner in the next few years. As long as it looks like management is trying to improve the team, I will pay to see them play.

Steeler announcing great dies at 79 He was Pittsburgh's Harry Carry. You loved or hated him. Very rarely did he make sense but more times then not, you found youself turning down the TV and turning up the radio to hear Cope announce the game. He was a legend in Pittsburgh and he will not soon be forgotten. If you never heard him, you missed a great one. Pop open an Iron City at Cope's Cabana and drink to one of the greats.

I find it hard to believe that an NFL player failed at numerous attempts to lunge and inflict bodily harm. The Best blockers in the NFL can't hold a block forever but somehow the Strip club security was able to fend off Pacman and his entorauge through numerous attempts. Maybe those guys should try out for the Falcons. Something wreaks of shenanigans here.
Double Amputee Can't Run in Beijing Olympics Oscar Pistorius, a South African sprinter dubbed the "blade runner" because he runs on prosthetics, has been barred from this year's Summer Games. "An athlete using this prosthetic blade has a demonstrable mechanical advantage (more than 30 percent) when compared to someone not using the blade," the International Association of Athletics Federations ruled. A May 2007 New York Times profile asked the question, "Is he disabled or too-abled?" A YouTube video shows Pistorius competing at the Golden Gala in Rome last year, his first race against "able-bodied" sprinters.

The difference Fly is that all of those examples you gave are available to everyone. Not everyone can put those blades on their legs. If they do infact offer a mechanical advantage, then it is not fair. "Some individuals with the legs Oscar has can barely get around, let alone run." This has nothing to do with competition. I'm very happy for the guy, but I have to agree with the decision.

The Steelers blew it. I know the refs had some bad calls, but you can't throw three interceptions and expect to win. Ben is a stand up guy, and he took the brunt of the blame, as he should, so don't bring up past comments by the guy that you clearly can't comprehend.
He wasn't an "unknown" to the wrestling world. He is considered to be the future of USA wrestling. But he was not expected to take home the gold in his first olympics at the age of 21. Most olympic wrestlers don't come into their own until their late twenties. The thread kinda spoiled it for me since I didn't get to see his last too matches. I was worried because he didn't look dominant in the two matches I saw last night. Glad to here he pulled it out. I will have to watch the matches online today at work.
