Chargers flushed, Peyton vs. Brady again Plus, LT got in a fight at the end of the tight game, it apparently had something to do with Shawne Merriman.

RIP Bowie. Ueberroth, a politician, succeeded him, and Bat Giammatti succeeded him to oust Charlie Hustle. After that, Fay came, certainly a poor choice, who was easily deposed of by Selig, and probably one of the most controversial heads of a pro league all time took the helm. Selig is undoubtedly the most controversial head dog to head the MLB ever til now, and possibly forever, if the Bonds thing does not goi away, and it certainly seems like it is going nowhere. If Bonds were to hit 756 in 2008, Selig would gamble like Charlie, because the one thing he wanted and thought would never happen, a one year delay of his nightmare, had happend.

When Naming Rights Become Naming Wrongs Comerica is moving its headquarters from Detroit to Dallas, a black eye for a city that will have the bank's name on the Tigers' ballpark for another 22 years. "If you want to go, go," said one fan. "Take the name with you."

Staples HQ is in Boston, but Staples Center is here in L.A. People go there love it, and see it as the best arena in North America. Nobody cares. However, it is not a good thing, one can say that, for those actually know. Honda Center in Anaheim is named after a Japanese company. When the Nets move to Brooklyn, their arena will be called the Barclays Center, even though the back is in green ole England. Many fans care, but again, most could care less, and many do not even know.

I say Saints next week. Pats have not gone dry for two years. Plus, in 2003, the Pats beat an NFC South team in CAR, and won the next Bowl in Florida the next year. Brady's great on turf, at RCA. I say NE def. NO in XLI. Ya Reggie's great, but HOF QB's beat rookie HOF RB's any day of the week.
Scoring With A Heavy Heart. After learning that a friend's lung cancer had spread to his brain, Anaheim's Teemu Selanne scores his first hat trick in six years, powered by emotion and his promise to save the puck for his friend if he scored three goals. Said Selanne, "I don't think he has much time to live...life is not fair sometimes."

Davids to bank it like Beckham? Edgar Davids, 33-year-old Spurs midfielder (formerly of Inter Milan and Holland) with the cool sports glasses, is reportedly in talks with FC Dallas. I wonder which other aging stars will be next to join Becks on the MLS Old-Timers Gravy Express? (C'mon, Zizou!)

Ripken, check. Gwynn, check. McGwire, not so much. A landmark Hall of Fame election, with a message for the steroid era but no real surprises.
