I ATTENDED THE THIRD GAME OF THE 1970 WORLD SERIES IN WHICH DAVE MCNALLY, THE ORIOLE PITCHER, HIT A GRAND SLAM HOME RUN AGAINST THE REDS.
I FOLLOW THE HEAT, PANTHERS, DOLPHINS, MARLINS, ORIOLES, RAVENS.
I AM AN ALUMNUS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, AND FOLLOW THEM IN ALL SPORTS.
MY SON ATTENDED UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA AND UNIVERSITY OF HARTFORD, SO I FOLLOW THEM.
MY DAUGHTER ATTENDED U OF WISCONSIN-OSHKOSH, BUT THEY ARE HARDER TO FOLLOW. HOWEVER, THE INTERNET HAS HELPED WITH THE SCORES AND INFO.
I TAUGHT, AMONG OTHER SCHOOLS, AT COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON, AND AM INTRIGUED BY THEIR HIRING OF BOBBY CREMINS.

Face it: the big market clubs get the most national exposure, and it shows in the All-Star balloting. It should return to the players and coaches/managers. At that time, we fans agreed with a much higher percentage of the picks. As for pitchers, the managers now seem to pick according to who has been rested, and can therefore pitch most effectively on Tuesday, as the outcome has a bearing on the home field advantage in the World Series.
