Tradition can be expensive. I think it is interesting to see that many of the top 10 on this list are not the big leaders in NFL money or even top tier teams. I guess tradition and fan loyalty is still alive in the NFL

Jason Kidd traded to the Mavs. ESPN reports that discussions are ongoing. But Yahoo is reporting its a done deal. The official word is that the teams agree on the deal "in principle" pending league approval.

Every single team in the NFL films games to watch the tape. There are rules around that and you have to ask permission. Which the Jets did. You are not allowed to film the signals but you are allowed to film the games. If you camera's are stationed in the end zone you probably are not going to get a very good shot at the signals even if you wanted too. This just looks to me like someone is throwing an article out there just to stir up some crap. usless and baseless. It is not unfair nor is it cheating if you ask, you get permission and you film within the rules.
Vick Sentenced to 23 Months in Prison Six months after news first broke of an alleged dogfighting ring at his house in Virginia, Michael Vick was sentenced to federal prison Monday for his role in a dogfighting conspiracy that involved gambling and killing pit bulls. The earliest he could get released is May 2009. On the field, Falcons Coach Bobby Petrino's desperate search for a replacement now turns to Chris Redman.

He could face more time if he loses the State case. That sentence would not start until after he was released from Federal Prison then he would have to report to State Prison. However I personally don't think those charges will stand. Don't get me wrong I think the charges he was convicted of are horrible and he deserves to be in trouble for those, but to his lawyers point there does seem to be a double jepardy issue here. They cannot convict him twice on the same charges.
Redskins' Taylor Shot by Intruder Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor is in critical condition after being shot twice by an intruder early Monday at his Miami home. Taylor, 24, was the fifth overall pick in the 2004 draft and leads the team in interceptions. He's reportedly in emergency surgery.

Most Popular NFL Teams (in Order): Cowboys, Colts, Steelers, Packers This year's Harris poll of NFL team popularity has the Dallas Cowboys passing the Pittsburgh Steelers to claim the top spot, ahead of the fast-climbing Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers. The least popular team for the third straight year: My Jacksonville Jaguars.

To really judge bandwagon teams just look at attendance on game day. Although the Steelers / Cowboys and others that are near the top of that list have had poor seasons from time to time and I am sure attendance was probably down a little those years it still remains that they sold more tickets those years than many of the "winning" teams did. If you can sell your stadium out or 80% or higher on those down years then my friend those are real fans not the "bandwagon" variety.

Nice Article. I really think OU is better than the Colorado game. They were looking ahead to Texas and stumbled. I think that Bob Stoops is one of the better coaches in the college game today but that loss is on him, he isn't supposed to let that happen. The loss to Colorado probably put an end to their hopes for a shot at the championship but I agree that they will probably beat Texas and I think it will be a rather lopsided victory at that. I think LSU is the best team in the top 10 right now but as you said an SEC schedule makes it very hard to go undefeated regardless of how good you are. USC is fully capable of losing at least one on this years schedule and I actually hope they do (sorry USC fans). Last Saturday really turned this year into a heck of a race I think with all those top teams losing it really opens the door for a lot of fun football this year. Should really be fun watching how it finally shakes out.
Tressel Skipped Final Coaches' Poll Vote Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel chickened out of voting in the final USA Today football coaches' poll, which is made public, saying he wasn't going to give his next opponent extra incentive. "That's a bunch of sanctimonious bunk," said Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach.

The coaches poll is easy... vote all the teams you play against high and all the ones you don't low. Gotta get that strength of schedule number up there somehow. Coaches should not have a poll they know their own team and whatever opponent they are playing that week. The only time they see any other teams is the highlights on Sportscenter.

luther is right, it's part of an agreement with the teams and the NFL other networks cannot broadcast games in compitition against the "home" team on another channel. It's not that they can only shgow one game, it is simply they cannot show a game opposite of the home team.

The only guns NBA players should have are these (kiss biceps now) With David Stern's announcement comes the chatter.

venicemenice - I don't know if that would fly. The comparison seems right however there was a case last year in Arizona where a property owner (he owned several shopping malls if i remember correctly) tried to ban legally carried guns on his property. The courts ruled that he could in fact ban them but if he did so he would then become liable for the saftey of everyone there. Since that could have ended up costing him much more he decided not to ban guns on the property. I have also read about enployers firing employees for smoking and getting away with it however I truely do not believe any employer should be able to dictate what you can do with your own time, as long as what your doing is not illegal then it is none of there business. Just my opinion on that one however :)

They might be able to stop it by making it part of the policy against reckless or dangerous behavior. Most players have a clause of that type in their contract. I don't know that it would stand up in court but it would probably be the best chance they would have. I myself support gun laws, but not making them illegal. I think that there should be laws regulating the use and possesion of guns but I also believe as a law abiding citizen that you should be able to own and carry a gun IF you do so legally. I think we are missing something here though. Even in the states that do allow you to carry concealed weapons it is still illegal to carry them anywhere alchohol is sold or consumed. if they had guns in any type of bar strip bar or otherwise they were breaking the law (correct me if I am wrong but isn't that a FEDERAL law?). That seems like something that could easily justify action of some sort by law enforcment and the NBA.

'Don't You Need at Least One Good Quarterback to Make a Controversy?' Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Gil LeBreton asks that question after Dallas Cowboys QBs combined for four interceptions -- no, wait, Tony Romo just threw another -- in the Monday night loss to the New York Giants. Romo entered last night's game "to a standing ovation and chants of 'Romo, Romo, Romo,'" according to the Associated Press. "The cheers didn't die down until his first pass was swatted by Michael Strahan and intercepted by Antonio Pierce."

AMPto11 lol OK sorry, I misunderstood :) I didn't think you meant what it sounded like you meant stoned or not :) I agree most of these players are very good and some will be great. I have no problems with what the Cowboys have done via the draft as far as defense. However I think they are three or four years past when they should have brought in a good QB. I really felt like they should have at least went after a good free agent like Brees, but what the hell my names not Jerry Jones so I don't get a vote.
This is the worst trade in the history of basketball the mav's are idiots to give that much up for Jason Kidd?? Jason has maybe a year or two left and plays no where close to how he did in his prime. Even if Jason was in his PRIME now he would not be worth what the Mav's gave up....good lord I rate this trade there with the Herschall Walker trade only this time the Texas team got the worst end of the deal.. I would not have given even Devin Harris alone for Kidd! Much less this kind of package! Dumb, Dumb DUMB!!!
