Edwards fined for hitting Earnhardt About time someone had the guts to bust Earnhardt's bubble. I think NASCAR shows too much favortism toward certain drivers and teams, Earnhardt being one of them.

Bristol and Talladega, the 2 best tracks, imo.

What Jr. done, he should have be fined. What Edwards done was down right idiotic. He almost took Jr's hand off when he t- boned him. And to drive into Jr's. pit area and into victory lane was pure dumbass thinking. I wish Nascar would have docked him points and docked the owner points. There was no reason for his immature actions.

Rice To Retire With 49ers Next Week. I like the move to sign a contract with San Francisco and then immediately retire. Somehow the idea of him retiring from any other team just wouldn't seem right. Just as I'm sure he'll be presented as a Niner when he goes into the Hall of Fame. The halftime honors in Nov is a nice touch. I'm not an SF fan, but I'll still miss watching him play.

great wide receiver, probably the greatest. But like holyfield, he should have retired before last year. Congrats Jerry, you were fun to watch.

Marion Jones Failed Initial Drug Test OK, is there anyone who's not doping? Someone? Anyone? I mean come on, what good does it do to cheer for anyone any longer?

posted by commander cody at 10:28 PM on August 19

marion jones is a runner, she doesn't play baseball. Didn't you read the post?

He has done it again at 43 years old, and possibly on his way to an unprecedented five time heavyweight champ. Holyfield has won his first fight in the comeback trail.

all i say is, the heavyweight division is in sad shape and has been for a long, long time

Green Light... RED LIGHT! haha go back to the beginning. While crew chief Roy McCauley argued the call - and the ensuing penalty that left Busch as the last car on the lead lap - NASCAR officials said the caution and the light closing pit road happened 2 seconds before the driver headed past the commitment line for a stop.

posted by everett at 08:50 AM on August 14

on this track, (the Glen), all they need to do is have a flagman before the pits waving a little red flag to let the drivers know that the pit is closed. Having said that i smiled when it happened to busch. :) he's so...... well, Busch

SpoFi Field Trip The WNBA playoffs will be under way very shortly, and there's no way the Connecticut Sun aren't gonna bring it home this year...and no way I'm not gonna be there. Anyone interested in catching a playoff game or two at Mohegan Sun?

I might go to a game- but I dont know you well enough to go see a game with you. Aw, that's okay. I don't want to sit next to someone with a nick like yours anyway. posted by lil_brown_bat at 5:49 PM CDT on August 11 lbb, i almost choked on my oj. :))

Jeremy Mayfield released from ride Oh well, JM needs to accept that he wasn't doing good and his attitude wasn't real good either. Ray Evernham needed to make changes so he let JM go. JM wants to try and take the team to court over this. What a waste. Get over it Jeremy and move on!

Evander Holyfield is returning to make a run at a record 5th World Heavyweight Championship.

posted by kidrayter2005 at 11:24 PM on August 12

holyfield's been washed up . he's going to end up like ali, dead man walking. Next thing we'll read is that sugar ray leonard and marvin hagler are having a rematch. Boxing has been on a downhill slide for 10 years. When i was a kid i used to love watching Friday Nite Boxing and Fight of the Century. Damn shame.

Michael Young, best SS in the majors? Jeter and Tejada get more ink, but Young has at least as much respect among his peers. Plus, he's a 'good guy'. Opinions?

Young is an awesome ss, we pickup ranger games here in Houston on fsn. He's fun to watch. Having said that, I would still pick Jeter over him. He is, imo, the best in baseball. (and yes, i've been a Yankee fan since I was a kid in Little League)
