Fight of the year??: An early candidate for FOY will be the proposed June 11 bout between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Arturo Gatti.
Gatti dispatched "Jesse James" Leija on Saturday night clearing the way for the June superfight. But, Gatti and Mayweather may have to outdo the Tito-Winky superfight in May.
Should be a good year for the sweet science.
I wonder if he would have preferred a win.
U-S-A, U-S-A: Jason Whitlock, of ESPN's Page 2, thinks the hatred goes a bit deeper than many people are admitting when it comes to the Mens Olympic Basketball Team. I almost agree. I have a co-worker who was getting sheer joy from seeing the team struggle. I asked him why and he said that they were a bunch of selfish, rich NBA stars who didn't know how to represent America. When I explained to him that the selfish guys stayed home and that this team actually wants to there, he fumbled for a sec. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is more to this backlash than their paycheck. The original Dream Team made huge money as well.
Some NBA rules regarding Free Agents, rookies, trades and signings: from Mark Cuban's weblog. An interesting one... "If you acquire a player in a trade, you may trade that player straight up for another player immediately. If you wish to package that player with another and make a trade, you must wait 60 days."
I stuck around and read some of the other articles and followed some of the links and have to say that it quickly became one of my favorite new blogs. I have always guessed that Mark Cuban's image isn't true to what he is really and like and the blog definitely proves it. The little he lets you in lets you know a bunch about how he thinks and where he's coming from. It isn't from left field the way some media outlets would have you believe.
