Spree to flee? The incomparable Latrell Sprewell wants to be traded. He "doesn't believe the Wolves are offering enough for his value to the team" and says, "Why would I want to help them win a title? They're not doing anything for me. I've got a lot at risk here. I've got my family to feed. Anything can happen; it's a long season. You never know."

Prime Time again? ESPN reports Neon Deion is contemplating a comeback, possibly with the Baltimore Ravens. Will it be Jordanesque or, um, Jordanesque?

Somebody's getting all up in Manny's grill. Bidding for Manny Ramirez's JENN-AIR (retail value: $4,000) is up around $20K. The grill has been used once, but as Manny says in the ad, "I never have the time to use it because I am always on the road." Can we expect the "purchase-use once-sell at an inflated price" model one we can expect to be expanded upon in the near future? Is eBay on the verge of becoming an endorsement-compensation-alternative for high profile athletes? And what impact might these straight-from-source transactions have on the memorabilia trade, if any?

USC's 2004 BCS Championship Could Be In Jeopardy All thanks to Mr. Bush, if he his ruled ineligible for as much as one game the BCS could look to take away USC's 2004 championship. Funny how that potential three-pete could turn into only a share of a championship.

For those too lazy to click on the link, here is the article in its entirety:
NEW YORK - In light of allegations of improper conduct by Reggie Bush's family, Bowl Championship Series officials told Yahoo! Sports if Bush is ruled ineligible by either the Pac-10 or the NCAA during the 2004 season, the BCS will discuss amending its rules to allow it to force USC to vacate the national championship it won over Oklahoma.
"This is the type of thing the BCS might have to look into if other governing bodies, the conference and the NCAA, take action," BCS administrator Bill Hancock said.
FWIW, this controversy has already spawned an FPP, and I don't think a new post linking to an article the size of my pinky nail is worth making.

That was so freakin' sweet. I wanted to say awesome, but it's been taken by everybody else.
Ditto on the kudos for Scully. This could have been a link to the audio alone and I would've enjoyed it.
I want to see this guy reenact Super Bowl XXV in Tecmo Super Bowl next... (Norwood is wide right!)
ESPN's Next Gamble: Dominoes Flush with the success of World Series of Poker, ESPN's highest rated regular series, the network is betting that Americans will watch dominoes in telecasts that begin in June. My dream of playing Dungeons & Dragons on TV just got a little closer to realization.

Actually, it appears they have already been showing dominoes tourneys on ESPN Deportes for a while now on Tuesday nights. Interesting article here.
This guy doesn't like it. Like wingnut, I love me some bones, but I'm not sure if I can get into it. I'll probably check it out, though... God knows I'm already addicted to WSOP/WPT telecasts.
America's new dancing machine!!! Matt Leinart will forgo millions and follow Jerry Rice in ballroom dancing emphamy. I could hear FOSSE turning in his grave!

Where's Waldo? err, make that Barry... I had heard a rumor (but couldn't find a verifying link, so if anyone can help out, I'd appreciate it) that MLB was not going to recognize Bonds' accomplishment until/unless he passed Aaron. Then I ran across this projection of when HR milestones would be reached by various players...

Bonds to sue "Game of Shadows" authors, publishers What I find most interesting is that Bonds is not suing over the claims that he used performance-enhancing drugs, but over the fact that the leaked grand jury testimony the authors base many of their claims on is "illegally obtained."
posted to Baseball at 8:06 AM CDT
Look, Bonds knows he's guilty, and he knows the American public knows he's guilty. Filing a lawsuit like this is not surprising in the least... your average idiot will hear "lawsuit filed by Bonds" and, failing to note that he never challenges the allegations made in the book, think "well, hot damn, he must be innocent after all."

Mexico's Ayala Out For Season Finally, the thing MLB dreaded the most. Washington's bullpen takes a hit as one of the best setup men in the game needs Tommy John surgery. To complicate the matter, Washington had pleaded with MLB to keep Ayala from playing because he had surgery during the off-season, and they didn't think he was strong enough to pitch in game situations.

How many of these injuries can be blamed on the WBC....
From the linked article: The news of Ayala needing Tommy John surgery left the Nationals organization upset with Ayala and Major League Baseball. Weeks before the World Baseball Classic began, the Nationals, according to team president Tony Tavares, appealed to Major League Baseball twice about not allowing Ayala to play for Mexico because the club thought his elbow was not strong enough to play in any games in early March. Tavares said both appeals were denied.
The point, zip, is that had Ayala stayed out of the WBC, he would have been brought along at a more appropriate pace in line with his injury and corresponding surgery. The WBC as an entity is not to blame, but I have to side with the Nats on this one.
T.O. in Big D Terrell Owens has reached an agreement in principle to join the Dallas Cowboys. The signing comes six years after he showed contempt for the franchise by spiking two touchdowns on the star at the midfield of Texas Stadium, the second of which resulted in George Teague drawing the most beloved unsportsmanlike conduct foul in Cowboys history.

Great comments, would peruse again A++++
P.S. I am a Cowboys fan, and I think it's terrible. Just don't laugh if I end up drafting him in SpoFi fantasy football this season.
P.P.S. It's "Cowboys" or "boys," not "Cowboy's" or "boy's." Unless you're talking about one cowboy.
