Great player, the most God-awful coach/GM/whatever in the history of basketball. I loved him as a player, but only because he played for my Pistons. He had that baby-faced, angelic smile, but was a total thug underneath. A dangerous combination, one that I'm sure carried him farther in the business end of basketball than ever should have happened.

I wonder what list of records the author started with. Seems to me he didn't consider quite a few while compiling his list. Byron Nelson's 11 PGA tour victories and Martina Navratilova's 341 could challenge several of his choices, and there are certainly many others. I think Wilt's 50.4 single season scoring average is more impressive than 100 points. And how about Oscar Robertson's "triple double" average for a whole SEASON? And then there are some more obscure records. Anybody remember Alexander Karelin? That scary Russian Roman-Greco wrestler back in the 80s who body slammed heavyweights? He went some long period of time without even being scored on! Lists are always subjective, but this one isn't even close.

There is no doubt Top Ten lists are subjective. This person put some thought into his list, but he based it on personal preferences. No football? No SOCCER?! I'm no fan of soccer, but I'm willing to bet there is a major rivalry there somewhere. Those fans are rabid, so there has to be something to it.
I live north of Detroit, so you can easily guess my personal favorite. But I wonder where it would end up on a genuine, unbiased world top ten..

Freestyle? Is that another word for 'time out' or 'just kidding'? If an announcer on ABC Sports calls an athlete 'a little monkey' and rhymes it, then it's ok? I like Shaq. But anyone who thinks he doesn't harbor some resentment toward Kobe and that lame crap he spewed was just in fun is deluding themself. He meant every single word or he wouldn't have said it. In this time of heightened sensitivity, where every word or phrase is overly scrutinized, it's time for sports stars and others to be held accountable like everyone else.
