Ponies! Remember when I suggested we have a collaborative link space? We could use Memigo for this purpose, or one of the spofi owners could implement this on the sportsfilter.com domain. With it's "Junior Authors" feature, TypePad makes this trivial, but I'm not sure I can afford the bandwidth on my personal typepad page. I've also got a Sports/Games RSS (1.0) feed as part of a larger links project of mine, so you can get a sense of how it works if you have a news reader.

I'd love a collaborative RSS/(N)echo feed maintained by spofi member for any and all sports-related links. It could be used for scoring updates, quickies, kind of like a non specific but all encompassing links sidebar. It'd be a perfect workday distraction and place to park "Would you look at that!" kind of posts that don't warrant discussion. A few examples:

• Mo's rehab is going well, entering its third cycle
• Mets 9, Braves 2
• Neat article about Lance's workout
• I highly recommend seabiscuit
• MoWiki
• Check out this cool old spofi thread, still active

ESPN and non-commercial self links would be encouraged here as well. It could be powered by a simple trackback form (but of course MT would not be required). Posts could also appear on Spofi, or discussions could pop up on other member's blogs. it's also trivial to convert such a feed to a links sidebar, hosted here and/or on Member's blogs.

What about banning espn links for two weeks, forcing people to post from their local papers and seek out news coverage that we're less likely to see on their own. I think most spofi users check espn at least as often as we look for new posts here - so why not elimate the duplication and see what happens?

I downloaded the mozila 1.1 nightly (Linux, "natch?") and I was getting a Cookie.SMALL_FONT_SIZE error that I thought was site-wide, until I went home and viewed this lovely site on my TiBook. Anyone else have this problem? Is it Linux only?
