Should SportsFilter be the place for rah-rah posts like these? I understand that sports-related sites lend themselves to favoritism, but non-newsworthy stories that are posted for the sole purpose of creating buzz have no place in this medium.

We discourage "my team is going to kick major tail" posts in the guidelines, so along those lines jbou should've probably left out the predictions of future UConn glory. However, since he linked to something new -- a prominent ESPN column about UConn -- and people have used his post to talk about overrated and underrated teams heading into the tournament, I think it's worth keeping around. Also, the first link had some news in it -- Logan outscoring the opposing team by himself might've been worth a link even if you're not a Cincinnati fan.

Borderline. I would've said no, but rcade's points swayed me. We just need to make sure we're consistent (that's 'we' as a community, not specifically 'we' the SpoFi Mafia), and that we favor quality over quantity in the long run.

It's hard not to post things from your favorite teams because those are the ones you read about the most. If something happens to the Redskins, I expect owillis to have the dirt, and the same goes with the Redwings and adampsyche (I think it's him, anyway). All of us are going to end up posting quite a bit of stuff about our favorite teams. I think the guideline should be that you can't put anything on a FFP that you might write on a sign at a game. Save that for the comments. Btw, go Bruins! (see, it's okay here)
