I think I speak for most SpoFi-tes everywhere as I say, "Who?"

No disrespect intended to her, of course. A fine accomplishment.

A truly great accomplishment.... one of three women to reach this platform. I applaud her coaching and wish her the best.

I suppose you never heard of Don Imus either.

I think I speak for many SpoFi-tes everywhere who say, "Who hasn't heard of Vivian Stringer?"

Seriously, she's built a hell of a program at Rutgers and seems like a coach who cares about her kids, and they in turn respect her. Hopefully Rutgers can go a long ways in the NCAA tournament. If the games resemble their clash a few weeks back against Tennessee, it will be exciting.

And I think I speak for at least a few when I say, "Why come in here and shit on the thread?" And, I'm probably speaking for a few more when I say, "Read the linked article, and you'd know she was one of the greatest coaches in NCAA Women's Basketball history."

Congrats! She is one of the best basketbal coahes of all time, male or female. It is a very exciting brand of basketball that more basketball purest should watch.
Womens basketball is the purest form of the sport today. It is not a live or die on the three point shot that has evolved in the mens sport. Women still block-out, hit free throws, run offensive and defensive patterns, and basically play a great brand of fundemental basketball that is not in exsistance in mens basketball anymore, with a few exceptions.
For proof of what is happening in the mens game look at free throw percentages now compared to 10 years ago. Also take note on the statement made by JC at Memphis 2 weeks ago, he didn't think free throws were important in regard to the success to his team. 2 days later Memphis lost it's #1 ranking at the free throw line.
If you appreciate good fundamental basketball watch the womens teams at Rutgers,Tennesee,Uconn, etc,etc...........

Should be a good game tonight vs UConn. #1 vs #4, and #4 Rutgers won the other meeting this season.

Of course, they'll probably play again in the Big Est tourney, and then possibly in the NCAAs.

For years Coach Stringer has been the only leader at Rutgers (my grad school alma mater) keeping the school on the sports map so this is an awesome achievement. I'd love to see the Lady Knights play over their heads to get her a championship this year.
