Bonderman stays unbeaten on road, Tigers make history (edited link): No team since the 1891 St. Louis Browns, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, scored five or more first-inning runs in three straight games until the 2006 Tigers came to Cleveland Browns territory and did it Monday in a 9-7 win over the Indians.

Being a Twin's fan is a very emotional process.. I have suffered with many a losing season so when they make the playoffs, its like a holiday! It's a quote from your very own profile daddisamm, so if you don't get my beacon thing I don't know how else to make my point more clear.

These Tigers are almost too good to be true. I still don't quite trust the tigers. Didn't they have problems with both boston and ny? Playoffs should be interesting.

This Detroit team reminds me a little of the fab '84 team that went like a shot and never looked back.I believe they will go all the way. I just hope they don't dismantle too much after the Series,like the '84 club did.

Justgary, I gotta agree. I've said all season that they need to figure out how to beat the Yanks, Red Sox and White Sox. Looks like they've learned that they can hang with Chicago, but it remains to be seen with the other two. I'm a fan from way back, so I've been half expecting the bottom to fall out and praying that it won't. They haven't collapsed yet, but they've gotten pretty damned rubber legged a few times lately. Here's hoping that the wheels don't come off and they keep finding ways to win.

Tigers are currently: 29 - 13 vs. AL Central; 15 - 9 vs. AL West; but only 8 - 8 vs. AL East, with a losing record vs. both the Red Sox and the Yankees.

Thanks TBH, that's a perfect summation of my concerns. If they can't figure out how to beat the Yanks and Red Sox consistently, they'll end up like the Wings and Pistons, with great regular seasons and dismal playoff runs.

Remember ctal and TBH, it's baseball, and anything can happen. Who knows, maybe the blue jays might end up winning the world series? Stranger things have happened.

Remember ctal and TBH, it's baseball Thank God you reminded me, I thought we'd started talking about curling all of a sudden. And the Blue Jays winning the World Series is hardly out of the realm of possiblity. Now, the Royals or the Cubs, that would be a surprise.

Sorry about the box score link on the last post. I should have known better. I still find it hard to believe that this record has stood for so long. These Tigers are almost too good to be true.
