Yet another interesting football story I'd heard nothing whatsoever about until I came to SpoFi.

Now THAT is what football is all about IMO. GO ZANZIBAR! (Such a satisfying name to say.)

Squealy: If you liked this, I recommend checking out the documentary "The Other Final". To coincide with the 2002 World Cup Final, someone decided to arrange a game between the two LOWEST ranked FIFA teams. Great documentary about all that is good and pure about footie.

Leave it to you, Smithers, to post another fascinating topic!

For those of you who haven't ... check out Smither's sportsBabel for an always stimulating read! You're the blog king, Smithers ... I don't care what Mark Cuban says ;)

You're right Drood. I watched that documentary about The Other Final on tv a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.

That's the sort of football I admire. Teams who obviously play for national pride and the glory of the game.

I mean yeah, I love the World Cup. I plan on attempting to watch EVERY group game this year, especially the likes of Ivory Coast etc... But to see those guys slogging away at the bottom of the FIFA Rankings is inspirational I think. But then I always was weird:)
