When I said the Jets needed a little better lineman, I didn't mean ...: An apparently downloadable recent roster for EA Sports' "Madden 2006" included New York Jets offensive lineman Michael King. Unfortunately, the game version of King was just seven inches tall, as opposed to the real version, which is 6-3. Insert your own Jets joke here.

The question is, though, was he still programmed to be able to block and clear normal sized guys if you played your cards right? It'd be something to see Ray Lewis get cleared off by a Lilliputian. Nice find, fraze.

Hilarious screencaps. One of the caps shows him blocking a normal sized Buccaneer and holding his own. This CNET story explains more.

I just love the one where King's been pancaked. I remember feeling that way a couple times when my high school took on Jacksonville my senior year. They had a guy that was 6-7, 270, and strong as goat piss, and he was a preseason All-Stater. He chose, however, to stand straight up on every play, which meant I could either cut block him or, when he wised up, pound him in the back of the helmet and fall on him. We ran for damn near 300 yards on my side, but once on a pass, I swear this guy just picked me up and threw 5-6 yards off to the side. From the ground looking up, he appeared about the same size as that Buc in the screencap.
