Message to Major League Baseball owners:: Don't sell the Nationals to George Soros. If you do, the Republican Congress cannot be held responsible for any revenge legislation which may occur. Free enterprise, my ass.

Sally Jenkins wrote a great column on this in today's Washington Post. A sample...
Some Republican lawmakers don't think George Soros should be permitted to purchase a Major League Baseball team because he's too liberal and he has some wacky notions. I must have been napping, and that's why I missed the part where we became a country in which Democrats are no longer allowed to buy things.She mentions that if Marge Schott could own a team anyone should be allowed. I think she missed the opportunity to include former Los Angeles Dodger owner, Rupert Murdock in that list, but maybe that one is too obvious. She also points out that Soros isn't even the major partner in the bid. Good article, all around.

My bad. Jenkins does mention Murdock later in the article. I missed it the first time in the print addition on the train this morning. Mea culpa.

That sounds like posturing to me. They are trying to discourage MLB from dealing with Soros. I find it very hard to believe that they could find the support to harm MLB in any significant way.
