More. Apparently an informant audiotaped Lewis, who is accused of being an intermediary and "taxing" the transactions.

Wow, if it's not one Lewis it's another. I think it's pretty optimistic of the Ravens to say they think he'll be cleared of all wrongdoing when the authorities apparently have him on tape.

Seems strange that the Feds have had the tapes for nearly four years but are just now bringing an indictment. Especially since the buddy Lewis is alleged to have been helping was indicted on related charges over a year ago only to have those dismissed.

"The cooperating source told Lewis that he/she was willing to sell the narcotics to Lewis' associates for a price that Lewis can tax," meaning the price could be marked up for a profit, Mahaley said in the affidavit. "Lewis responded, 'Yeah,'" the agent said. Looks like they've got him cold! Seems a lot like the Ray Lewis deal to me, where they're just indicting him so they can get him to roll over on his buddy. I predict he makes a deal and agrees to testify in exchange for dropping the charges.
