Lefty lets another tournament slip away. Charles Howell III wins Nissan Open in a playoff. This won't be nearly as memorable as Phil's collapse in the U.S. Open last year but he gave up another tournament again.

Dad intervenes during his son's wrestling match. While the match is going, a father perceives his son to be in trouble and jumps in to help out. He launches his son's opponent about five feet into the air. Unbelievable.

Ultimate Fighting Robs The Cradle Want to watch 6-year-olds in the Octagon? Welcome to Missouri, apparently the only state in the union that allows "youth fighting." Says one parent, "We're not training them for dog fighting...I'd rather have my kids here than out on the streets."

Critics Go Ape Over LeBron James Magazine Cover A picture of NBA star LeBron James and the model Gisele on the cover of April's Vogue is attracting controversy over their pose. The shot taken by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz has been compared by some detractors to King Kong holding Fay Wray. ESPN.Com columnist Jemele Hill called it "memorable for all the wrong reasons." The photo is remarkably similar to "Destroy This Mad Brute," a famous World War I recruitment poster.

The cover appears to harmless to me. Giselle is smiling; she isn't horrified by LeBron. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
Dyams indicated any type of buzz is good publicity. Could it be also that other groups are jumping in to promote their own agendas? I assume LeBron and his staff approved the photo.
Much ado about nothing in my opinion.

The world has become way too fucking PC. That being said, there appears to be more controversy over things that aren't intended to be construed as racism. It is as if some purposefully look for shit to throw at the fan just to keep their personal agenda in the collective faces of the public.
Magazines covers have one purpose only....to sell the magazine. It is highly doubtful that Vogue would risk offending its readers by publishing a cover with a racially derogatory message.
I think it is time to stop oiling the squeaky wheel every time someone cries foul.
My comments are my opinion, they are not being made as fact. I'm sick of these stories. I'm sure the editor at Vogue has a big fucking smile on his or her face due to all the publicity they are getting from this cover. Every major news outlet and newspaper will carry this story. They will stay neutral and interview people from both sides of the stated controversy with the sole purpose of garnering precious fucking ratings and selling papers.
Union to examine why Bonds has no offers The lack of offers to Barry Bonds will be examined by the baseball players' association as part of its annual review of the free-agent market. Less than two weeks before opening day, the 43-year-old home run king remains unsigned.

Bonds has the best eye in baseball. A team would be crazy not to take him. Plus he puts the meat in the seats...home and on the road.
This may be true Landis but so far, nobody here has stated they want him on their favorite team. Why is that? I am a Cubs fan; I don't want him to play for the Cubs. I am guessing his negatives outweigh his positives which is why no team has gone after him.

Sure. He gave a waffling-type answer and speech when confronted by Congress a few years ago.
Therefore, he's a user.
It's pretty obvious, really.
He waffled the wafflers.

PGA Tour player Tripp Isenhour faces criminal charges for killing hawk It wasn't an accident, but it was with a hit golf ball. How many strokes off for killing a migratory bird?

This jamoke probably didn't have any intention of hitting or killing the red-shouldered hawk. My guess is that his ego couldn't let sanity prevail over his actions. He was the main subject in the filming of a television show. He probably felt he needed to prove his worth for the show by purposely trying to hit the hawk after he failed miserably in his first attempt (just a hunch, not based on fact).
The guy is a fucking idiot. There were cameras and witnesses to his now regrettable actions.
Isenhour has committed a crime. I think the PGA has an obligation to investigate this matter further and take action in order to demonstrate they don't support this behavior on a golf course.
He should have to stand atop the shag cart at the local driving range while wearing wings and a beak for his punishment.

Rape: I could be 18 with a 17 year old girlfriend and if we have sex, that could be a rape charge. is that the same as drugging someone tying them up and raping them. ITS THE SAME CHARGE. Born Icon is that the same?
No apology needed.

Even a relatively short shot like mine, by comparison, can really cause damage. Golf balls are hard. As close as spectators are to tee boxes at pro golf events, it's amazing that more aren't severely hurt. Based on the reaction of the fellow I hit, can you imagine someone thirty yards off the tee being beaned by an errant drive?
You mean like this?
This is an accident.

Belichick and Pioli speak out. A Boston Globe report on Walsh's videos and his firing. Also Belichick speaks about why he taped other teams and it's prority in his preparation.

From Belichick:
"Even though I felt there was a gray area in the rule and I misinterpreted the rule, that was my mistake and we've been penalized for it. I apologize to everybody that is involved - the league, the other teams, the fans, our team, for the amount of conversation and dialogue that it's caused."
So he admitted to knowing what he did was probably wrong by exploiting his perceived gray area of the rule. Sounds like someone who knew he was cheating and had an excuse to fall back on. Also, he apologizes for the "amount of conversation and dialogue that it's caused". He doesn't appear to apologize for the fact that he cheated, just that he was caught and now everyone is talking about it. Or maybe that is just my gray intereptation of his apology.
If this video taping thing was a one time thing and he was fined for the offense, so be it. We can let it go. But I think most people are riled up over this because it seams he has been doing the video taping thing for a long time. If so, his punishment was extremely lenient and the NFL tried to sweep the issue under the rug. In my opinion, this tarnishes the image and reputation of the NFL commish any Patriots team coached by Belichick.

The lawyers are smiling and getting ready to pounce. Some kid is going to hurt another kid really bad, it almost seems inevitable. Some kid is going to put his opponent in an arm bar and break it. Who is going to be held accountable? The minor child or the legally consenting parent who allowed their child to participate in the so called sport. Also, do you think insurance companies are going to pay medical claims for injuries that result from this activity?
