The way the Marlins have turned the baseball world upside down has to be one the best feel good things of the year in all sports. I think they are the biggest surprise in baseball. I hate that they have no fan support, and no owner support. Ownership gave up on them last November.... or so he thought. I do feel the fans should be upset with the owner and boycot the home games as they have done all year. This has to be one of the best alltime scrappy baseball teams. Joe Girardi should be given Coach of the year. It is just wonderful that a team with a 15 million dollar payroll is on the verge of making the playoffs with the triple digit payroll teams. Hell I heard that there were 6 or more individual players on other teams who made more this year than this entire team. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!

Excellent link indeed. I remember constantly bitching at the Raiders and how they would immerse their hands in stick-em (glue) ... Particularly Lester Hayes! Hard to drop balls with that much glue on your hands. LOL!

This is such a shocking firing. It reminds me of when all of the sudden .... Keith Olberman is no longer employed at ESPN. That broke what was arguably the best tandem sportscasters any network had with Olberman & Dan Patrick. So this does not surprise me. As far as the reasoning, just like with Olberman, we may never know. I personally think there may be some truth to the sexual harassman claims, but after the last entry as to Harold being sick & tired of the A-Rod bashing, this is more likely the real reason he was let go. Harold was also right in defense of A-Rod. So the guy is going thru a minor slump. Most other players in the league who would be in a similar slump, would not even be considered in a slump. The media and the fans of New York are way to spoiled and hard on their players. So, I say HOO-RAY! for Harold for standing up for his beliefs ... if this voice of oppinion is really what was the final straw for Reynolds.

Tony is a great driver with the exception of his temper. I thought that awhile back he had to take some type of anger management classes? Apparently they must have pissed him off too, so he slept thru the remainder of them. My problem with Tony is just like Carl said in an interview I saw: When we were exiting pit row, I pulled up beside him and gave him a look asking hey what was that about. Tony just gives me a finger in reply, so I retaliated by spinning him out later. ....Carl had every right to retaliate. During my lifetime, anytime you or anyone else gave you the finger, you usually got your ass kicked. This guy has some major angry issues. Plus maybe his greatness has gone to his head. He must remember, he is a race car driver, not superman!

As a former baseball player and coach, I thought this was hilarious. The umpires did very well to keep there emotions in check. The manager went a little too far, but if it gets your team motivated, then so be it. Like I used to say when I coached, if your gonna get thowed out, you might as well get your moneys worth!

I believe that kid did not deserve the berating he received for Ozzy in the dugout. But as with any job in the world, he was asked to do something from his boss - albeit may be frowned upon by most, it is part of baseball and has been for 100 years - and he still did not accomplish the mission. What I do not understand is how any pitcher who has made it to the show, and cannot plunk a 6 foot tall man standing 60 feet away. If you make it to the majors, you should have very good control. He deserved to get his ass chewed out, just not in the dugout on live TV.
