Jermaine O'Neal out for 8 weeks

THe Pistons have the best starting five in basketball- so with or without O'neal they wouldn't beat detroit- So Indy should just let O'neal sit out the rest of the year and be healthy for next year. Let's not forget though that Ginobili and Duncan were both hurt in both games against Detroit. Ginobili didn't play on Christmas, and came off the bench (still hurt) in the second game. Duncan also has a lingering foot problem- I think SA should let him rest a couple of weeks bc they need him healthy for the playoffs- The Mavericks look very strong this year and may very well be able to take the #1 seed from SA if Ginobili and Duncan don't get healthy soon. The Rockets have probably had the most disappointing season thus far.

The Ten Most Hated Athletes

Karl Malone should be included in the list somewhere. His defense consisted of hacking away at players arms and throwing elbows at peoples skulls- although he did get away with most of it. Yet he would fall down violently when a guy like Mugsy Bogues made contact with him- and often times got the call in his favor. Some might call him smart and crafty, but he should go down as one of the cheapest and dirtiest players of all time. Great player though.

The Ten Most Hated Athletes

mcstan13 calling oj a murderer is like calling Kobe a rapist...neither was found guilty....so it's not fair to either one of them....oh, who are we kidding, we all know they both did it

Peja for Artest.

If Ron Artest doesn't cause any problems the Kings would get the better deal. Peja has consistently struggled in the playoffs.

Kobe drops 81 for 2nd most in a game in history of NBA.

Sounds like your upset just because not everyone wants to hold Kobe's jock like you do ninja. Go buy yourself another Bryant jersey and throw in one of the Lakers championship DVD's- you won't be seeing another one of those for a awhile. Let me know if you need a math tutor.

Kobe's 81 wasn't even the best performance of the year, or the month for that matter. I am a big USC fan, but Vince Young's performance in the greatest college football game of all time was amazing. To have his performance in a meaningless game against a meaningless opponent would have been incredible. But Vince had his performance in the National Championship game against one of the best teams of all time in USC....in their own stadium. Besides if AI, whom I'm not a fan of, TMAC, or Vince etc...., put up that many shots in a game they would equal, if not better the point output that Kobe did.

kobe can renogiate his contract so that they can affored players; besides, he should have thought of that before he forced shaq out; also other free agents took significantly less to play for title contenders this year, i.e. Michael Finley and Nick Van Exel- But Kobe is too selfish to take less money, plus he just wants to spend the next couple of years racking up stats so that people will consider him to be the best ever. Is he a great player? yes. Is he better than MJ? no. At this point I would take Lebron, Garnett, and Duncan over Kobe because they are better all around players who share the ball and arent concerned with how many shots they can put up in a game before their arms fall off. "Holy Defender" since the spurs knocked out his laker squad in the nba lockout year.

If anyone but Kobe had put up 46 shots, I mean scored 81 points, Phil Jackson would be on ESPN crying that an ASTERISK needs to be put in the record books because there is now a three point line. Yeah, great, you scored 81 kobe, now step aside while TEAMS who are actually competing for a championship continue their season. He doesn't have talent around him because nobody wants to play with him. If there were free agents out there the last couple of seasons who wanted to play with him they would have. What free agents this year will want to play with him?

Fans Storm Court After Hoyas Stop Duke

Why do you think Duke is egoloaded starfire15? They just believe that they can and should win every game they play. You seem more interested in seeing Duke fail than seeing your team succeed. I think most "Duke haters" are such because they win so much. The fact that there are so many Duke haters is a compliment to their program- it just shows how successful they have been over the years. I mean if they were a mediocre team, playing .500 ball then nobody would care or talk about Duke other than their fans.

Top 10 All-Time Point Guards

for clarification yeah I was referring to dusty's list of current PG's who he thinks are better than Parker. I'd say Magic was the greatest of all time. Stockton was just too small to be a good defender. Granted He was a great flopper and flung his elbows around when fighting through screens. Also I think you could throw in a number of point guards on the Jazz's team and they would have had the same success as Stockton B/C Malone, although I've never liked him, could knock down the jumper and was excellent at rolling towards the basket. Good comment about Silas- He was one of the best guards the Spurs ever had. I agree that it's too early to talk about parker being even in the top 20 point guards of all time but he's not as average as dusty thinks (having 10+ current pg's who he thinks are better)

Top 10 All-Time Point Guards

Parker isn't even close to making this list...you could argue that there are ten PGs playing today that are better than him I wouldn't say that Parker should be on the list, but he belongs at #12 right behind Steve Nash at #11. Last time I looked Parker has won more championships than any of the ten PG's listed combined. Nash is an amazing offensive point guard, but is probably the worst defensive point guard in the league. He may dish out 10+ assists per game, but he gives up just as many wide open jump shots and lay ups. This is why Nash and the currently constructed Suns will never win a championship. Because they don't play defense. Iverson is a great player but he's not a point guard. He is and always will be shoot first and pass second. Arenas has a bright future but is unproven thus far. He averages 5.3 assists over his career- the same as parker- and 19 points. This though while being on bad teams where he is able to put up a lot more shots (about 300 or so) than parker. I think Wade has the ability to one day be on this list but he hasn't been playing long enough to show any consistency. Also, he only averages .6 assits more than Parker and turns the ball over one more time a game than Parker. Marbury is apparently not that great of a point guard because the Wolves, Suns, and Nets all grew tired of him. Billups, in my mind, is one of the most underrated players in the league right now. Like Marbury, he's been around the league, but seems to have found his team in Detroit. His numbers aren't jaw dropping, but in a must win game I'd take him as my point guard- over Parker and Nash. He makes big shots, plays great defense, and turns the ball over less than most guards in the league, including Nash. I don't like the Pistons but I love watching Billups play. Terry is a nice point guard who averages .2 assits more than Parker, but up to this point has not proven himself as a top tier guard in the league. Francis is a good guard, but I wouldn't rank him in the top 10 point guards in the league. Baron Davis is an explosive player when he's not hurt- which unfortunately is not very often. Other than Billups, what do all the point guards listed have in common? No Championships. Yeah Parker has a great player in Duncan, but Jordan never won without Pippen, Kobe without Shaq, etc.
