“It was a sad day for the entire sport of basketball. We lost one of the best players of that era.”

Bishop - that's my feeling on the whole Len Bias situation--he chose to take drugs, just like John Belushi,River pheonix, etc. If you choose to screw your life up, you don't deserve sympathy or pity. If that had been my brother,I would not have felt pity or sadness, but anger over him being so stupid and screwing up not only his life but my parents lfe as well. So yes I'm callus when it comes to people and stupidity, if you scsrew your self you get what you deserve.

“It was a sad day for the entire sport of basketball. We lost one of the best players of that era.”

You go back to the very first post--it was a sad day in basketball, we lost one of the best players of that era. How do we know he wouldn't be a bust in the NBA, alot of players are good in college and tend to be mediocer? in the pro's, one comes to mind living here in Sacramento--Bobby Hurley good in college but not so good in the pro's. We have to stop putting the college athletes on a pedistal before we see how good they are, you don't bet the farm on a Nag even if it's the best Nag in the field. Sorry for rambling, but no-one shouyld feel sad --he did it to himself. no one forced him to be a low life dealer/abuser..

Toyota making big strides to the green.

I think it will be atleast a 2 yr process, they haven't run a 500 mile race with the Lexus motor yet and they have had limited testing at only a few tracks. Just because they are doing good in the truck series doesn't nec. carry over to the Nextel Cup series. Remember no matter how much factory backing you have you still fall undr Nextel Cup rules, which limit alot of things they haven't had to deal with yet, such as the Car of the future, which makes all cars the same except for front and rear facia. I say within the first 2 yrs. they could win a race.

UND to sue NCAA over it's name

It all boils down to WINS, if ND was winiing in most of their teams were in the top 5 in the Nation no-one would have a problem. The Seminols are alway nationally ranked in Football FSU's biggest sport, so no-one has a problem, if they were always dead last or at the bottom, the name would change over night.

Coaches face suspension for wins of 50-plus points

This rule is part of the pussification of America, where evrybody has to feel good and no-one get's their feelings hurt. All this rule does is say to the kids "well we can only get beat by 49 points today, so it won't be so bad.

Adelman out in Sacramento after eight seasons

After watching the Kings for some 15-20 odd years, they will never win a championship in Sacramento, Adelman was part of the problem, but I see the bigger problem being the "Magoof" Brothers. When they had what at the time was concidered the best team percentage wise in the NBA, they couldn't get to the Prom. The coaching change will be good for Sac. and only a team at the bottom will hire Adelman to coach, that way they know they can atleast get to the playoffs.

Pistons stand in LeBron's way, just as they did for Jordan.

Yes, but he overcame that and became the greatest player in NBA History. I've watched LeBron and other's play and I don't see that happing to them, they will be great, but not like Michael was.

Wie Makes Cut in South Korea

The main reason she gets the exemptions to play is she brings in MONEY, people always pay to see a freak show. Before someone gets butthurt, that was just a metaphor and you knew what I meant from the beginning.

Wie Makes Cut in South Korea

She has the only recognizable name in the tournament, I'm not taking away that this is a good accomplishment, but I'll wait to see how she does against the big boys of golf.

Sources: White failed drug test

Actually the NFl tests the top 30 players coming out for the draft. Until they leave school the NCAA can test them, even if they have announced they are goinbg for the draft. Once they announce their intention to be in the draft they fall under any and all NFL rules, which is why the NCAA can't test them unless they are still enrolled as a student.

USC's 2004 BCS Championship Could Be In Jeopardy

I disagree with mrj171, if you are a major athlete your family has as much to do with it as you do. The rule has always been you or family will do nothing to jeapordize your future. If you think it will hurt your future you don;t do it and you let your family know know the same thing. If you read the rule completely, not only can they take away the championship but they can really mess up recruiting for the next couple of years.

Is Kyle Busch following in his big brothers footsteps?

Beating on and banging have always been there, the older drivers just knew where and where not to do it, such as in a turn. Back then you didn't have the spoiled little rich kids (Busch Bros. ) jumping up to the big league before their ready, but thats to blame on the owners not giving these guys more time in the lower brackets.

U.S. thrown a curve; Cuba cries foul

I know, but talking about what Bush or castro will do isn't sports either. I think the whole idea of a world baseball tournament was ridiculas to begin with.

U.S. thrown a curve; Cuba cries foul

I'm getting tired of the gov. being blamed for all of Katrina. 1. the Govenor spend money earmarked for the levee repairs on her personal agenda (somewhere in the millions of dollars from ther Corp of Engineers).2. The Mayor didn't have enough backbone to complain more about getting the repairs done. 3. it turned out to be only a class 3 hurricane, not a 4 or 5 like predicted. I feel bad for those people and I love the city, but the blame starts at home with local gov. first.
