I have an admiration for Mike because he is a home town kid.He is from Livonia,a Western burb of Detroit. I realize that he is getting a little older now but he has allways been a class act, especially in the face of considerable adversity.
I realize that he is getting a little older now but he has allways been a class act, especially in the face of considerable adversity. sickleguy, what adversity are you referring to here? I'm not trying to play gotcha, I just don't know a lot about Modano's history and was just curious about the adversity he has faced, whether hockey-related or otherwise.
As a former Minnesota North Stars season ticket holder who has never quite gotten over the move of the franchise to Dallas, even though I now live in Dallas, I am happy for Modano. Class act for sure.
He's killed my Oilers often enough, but discussing him with my friends, we had nothing bad to say about him other than he's on the wrong team. Classy player, incredibly skilled, exciting to watch. What more do you want?
And to quibble, Mike Modano is not the leading scorer of players with U.S. citizenship. Bryan Trottier has 1425 points and Brett Hull 1391. >I just don't know a lot about Modano's history and was just curious about the adversity he has faced, whether hockey-related or otherwise. I don't know either, but he did lose a ton of money on some bad investment advice a few year's ago.
