Yeah, Montreal did this a bit on the early side. The Hurricanes have seven days to match the offer and in the meantime, Montreal's offer counts against their cap space.

With Price, Webber, and a team that plays solid defense a guy who can generate a few more goals is just what they need. And Montreal needs to win right now before their 2 best players begin declining.
