Happy Canada Day to all. I know I am a day late. I wanted to post this in Sunday's Huddle, but the Huddle took the day off (well-deserved day off, I might add).

Item for the Belgian dressing room bulletin board:

Toward the end of the Brazil-Mexico match, Holden and Strong began fawning over Brazil's quality and chances in the upcoming rounds. They also fawned over France, and wondered aloud: could we see a Brazil-France semi-final?

Not one mention of Belgium, as though they didn't exist.

Carry on accordingly, guys.

I'd rather watch a Brazil-Belgium match than watch any team from the left side of the bracket play any team from the right side of the bracket in a final. (Although having England and France go to a penalty shootout would be rather Napoleonic).

The Dallas Mavericks are signing DeAndre Jordan, assuming the agreement makes it to the end of the moratorium this time.

It's weird to think about Mavericks fans cheering him. He was a wonderful target of fanrage. Did we ever stop booing him in visits to Dallas?

Boogie Cousins just signed with the Warriors.

They now have a starting lineup of 5 all-stars.

Why even bother with playing out the full season?

As for LeBron...

LeBron to Lakers:

"I realize now...I'm gonna miss JR Smith. Go get me one or two head cases."

Go get me one or two head cases."

Maybe this wish has been granted. They have signed Rondo. Lakers' practice will be really fun at the point guard spot. Will Lavar Ball put out a hit on Rajon?

There is no point guard on LeBron teams. There's a guy who brings the ball across half court when LBJ is tired, otherwise LBJ has the ball. He's the point guard/forward/post.
