The Cardinals have thrown a full shopping bag.

Halfway through the game, the score was already very shameful for the guests.

More writing should be like this.

Over at Baseball Think Factory, they have a daily posting (called the "Primer Dugout") that includes a "Birthday Team" (a player for each position that was born on that day), and a link to a Google newspaper clipping from 100 years ago (about baseball, or people in baseball). Here is the article from December 13, 1912.

An example from a few days ago:

BENZ THROWS AT HAM TO GET CONTROL

Down at Batesville, Ind., Joe Benz, butcher boy pitcher with the Chicago White Sox, is attracting the attention of the natives for miles around just now by the method he has adopted to gain control of his elusive spitter. He has a mid-winter training scheme all of his ownin the yard back of his butcher shop. ... Two stands of wire, one placed at a height corresponding with thebatter's knees and the other about neck high, ...

Kris Humphries can't even buy a break at the free throw line.

On edit: The Raptors DO need defensive help this season, however.

Who needs context. It's just Joey Crawford being Joey Crawford. He seems to think he's the star of the game, not part of the furniture.

ESPN says, "Embrace Debate". Unfortunately, Rob Parker decided we should debate whether RGIII is black.

You can't stop Joey Crawford, you can only hope to contain him.

On edit: This is a copy of my most upvoted Reddit comment. I've had better comments but my god does Reddit like it's quips.

Are we going to do a "year in review" thing here?

If so, I'd like to nominate the following videos for "Sports Videos of the Year".

Stephen A. Smith came on directly after Parker and appeared as the voice of reason

That kind of says it all, no?

The highlight of that clip isn't Crawford doing his thing, but the absolutely cartoonish reaction that Kobe Bryant (24) has to the call.

The jaw-dropping, head-holding, wide-eyed look of disbelief is my favourite part of this. All that was missing was steam actually coming out of his ears.

Even Crawford looks back to see that masterpiece.

Pretty normal fare for Kobe. His skill set is immense.
