The ultimate soccer pick-up game this evening (5:30) in Manhattan.: Steve Nash putting an all-star group together for a pick-up soccer game for charity.
I'll be there. The little guy with the big skillz.

I'm sure Barca will be chuffed that Henry's agreed to play. Not that I have the faintest idea what a pick-up game is.

Anybody go? Sounds like a fun event. Curious how it played out. Also, how'd they raise money if attendance was free? Were they selling concessions?

There are photos already up on Flickr. (This set has some crackers.) Pick-up = American for 'kickabout'. Not exactly jumpers-for-goalposts, this one, though.

I love Nash. Generally, a free event like that raises money by taking donations at the door.

Yeah, sorry I'm on the other coast. Woulda been big fun to see Nash mix it up with the likes of Henry, Kalou, Fowler, Reyna.

Though you wonder if it'll be delayed if Germany-Turkey goes to pens. If you're in that part of Manhattan, take your video camera, pls? We know what Nash can do, but Jason Kidd? Should be a lot of fun.
