Minor leaguer traded for 10 baseball bats.: “They just wanted some bats, good bats—maple bats,” Broncos general manager Jose Melendez said.
Most interesting trade since the Hansen brothers were traded to the Charlestown Chiefs for a used puck bag. Or was that just speculation on the part of Ned Braden?

I think this was a better trade. Leon does not agree with me, though.

I wish the Dodgers could trade Andruw Jones for 10 bat's. Great trade; I would even provide the bat's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My late lamented Victoria Cougars once traded a used bus for a player: In January of 1983 the Breakers made what is undoubtedly the strangest trade in the history of hockey. Seattle owned the rights to forward Tom Martin, who was playing with the University of Denver. They traded his rights to the Victoria Cougars "for a used bus and future considerations" (quote from Total Hockey, 2nd ed.). When asked about the trade years later, Breakers owner John Hamilton stated "It may have been the best deal I ever made." What did Martin have to say about the deal? "I heard the bus was a really nice one."

At least he's got a good attitude about it... “I don’t really care,” he said Friday. “It’ll make a better story if I make it to the big leagues.” Yeah it will.
