Phillies hot-doggin' the trade market: A rare spring-training move sees Kyle Kendrick traded to the Yomiuri Giants in exchange for Kobayashi Iwamura.

Funniest stuff I have seen in a while. Traded for a hot-dog eater!! Utter hilarity. It's good to see such light-heartedness in the clubhouse. Building team-chemistry for what I hope to be another run at the pennant. Go Phils.

So awesome on so many levels. Charlie Manuel was pitch-perfect. The illiterate comments following the article make me want to be traded to Japan.

Well, when you think about it, the Phils really do need a utility guy who can knock back 60 - 70 dogs at a sitting. If they'd had Kobayashi last year, maybe Ryan Howard would have a ring. After all, baseball and hot dogs do go together. I'm just sayin'.

I thought this was classic. The bit was great. I love that they were able to get everyone involved but it also makes me sad. Sad because no one is commenting on something fun in sports. To bad Kendrick isnt on HGH then some people would comment. Great post DR

LOL. I came back here only after seeing this on the front page of My Yahoo, thinking I'd post this link. Of course, it was already here. But I had disregarded it as just another normal player trade post. Here's the follow-on, round-up report that sent me back here. Best post of the week.

The look on Kendrick's face while sitting in Manuel's office is pure gold. Manuel played it well, as did Amaro and his agent. Myers and Burrell though, horrible actors.

there is a fine line between funny and cruel. I first thought funny but after thinking about the 'victim' I think that line got rubbed out like the back side of the batters box....

Cruel? I'm not sure about that. My first thought was more along the lines of 'What did Kendrick do to earn this type of retaliation?'. I am looking forward to the possibility of this continuing throughout the season, Kendrick is gonna get somebody. I think the great thing that is evident is the camaraderie. That can only benefit the Phillies. It seems they have a strong clubhouse, and that can easily turn into a recipe for success.

My favourite part of the video—besides the gag, obviously—was just the inside look at what would go on in the clubhouse as news of a trade is broken: like the player-manager meeting, something that would never be put on video in earnest.

I would love to see the same prank played on Milton Bradley.
