High School Glory: If you were looking for in-depth analysis of the LCS you probably weren’t looking to me anyway. On Thursday October 18th at 8pm I will be watching a high school football game between Cy-Fair, Texas and Cypress Falls, Texas. The latest column in an ongoing series by sportsfilter member kyrilmitch_76.

Great stuff mitch, I really enjoyed this one. Just a couple of weeks ago ESPN featured 2 schools in south Alabama, my home state. I too watched with great excitement reminiscing on my days as a High School athlete.

Maybe I'll tune in. It would be nice to watch a halfway decent high school football team play at least once this year.

Here's the link to the video. I still haven't figured out how to link within a column on this site.

I imagine you have to enter the HTML manually.

I actually used a typewriter to write my term papers in school, if that gives you any idea as to my knowledge of HTML. I actually have a website that I do but everything I do is cut and paste I don't write any code.

Nice column, Kyrilmitch. If I had my way, I'd be watching Nashua (NH) South vs Salem, NH, on Friday night. A win for South means a playoff spot, but Salem is fighting to stay in the playoff hunt as well. Right now, I'm in Tonopah, NV, which is about as close to the middle of nowhere as you can get. The town has fewer than 1,000 people, but their HS football team (8-man variety) is the focal point of the place, and last year went to the Nevada State Championship game in their division. My point is that High School athletics is often a unifying force in a town, going beyond the school walls, and bringing people together. I'm not sure that putting HS games on national TV is a good thing, but if it brings people out to their own HS games, then it's OK. By the way, who did you play tight end for?

I grew up in and live in Laconia but I went to Bishop Brady in Concord. My senior class graduated 53 students so the competition wasn't exactly overwhelming. The nice thing was that pretty much anyone who wanted to could play.
