Pistons 4: - Bulls 2
Cavs 3 - Nets 2
Suns 2 - Spurs 3
Warriors 1 - Jazz 4
THE NBA PLAYOFF THREAD or WHY I STOPPED CARING ABOUT SUSPENSIONS AND STARTED WORRYING ABOUT THE LACK OF BEER AT THE POSTGAME PRESSER.

I thought it wasn't possible to dislike the Spurs anymore than I already do, until I read that blog entry. What an insufferable fan! I sure hope the Suns aren't too tired to play competitively the next two games. The Jazz link was good, nice breakdown.

This year almost makes me wish I still cared about the Jazz. Almost.

Wow, if the Jazz win and we elect a Mormon President... Utah is back baby!!

"Utah is back baby!!" Figures, just as I become too old to enjoy it.

I don't wish to burst your bubble but Utah ain't back.... for that matter when did they do anything? They'll be gone when they play the next round. On the other hand, go Pistons!

sickleguy, i wouldn't count out the Jazz yet. I'm not a big fan of theirs, but the ways their bigs have been playing, particularly boozer, has been impressive. Yes, I know that the GS Warriors had no one to stop Boozer, but 30-15 nights don't shrink to nothing when you have legit competition. His #'s will go down somewhat, but Boozer won't disappear. If Deron Williams can bring his turnovers down and their bigs keep playing well, they will be a tough put out for either the suns or the spurs. I think that the Jazz are this year's real sleeper team. No one has given them much credit all playoffs, and i think that they are just fine with flying under the radar. No pressure that way. I think that they are a dangerous team to play in the conference finals.

Well,Brain, anything is possible and I certainly wish them well.

Personally I would rather have the Pistons play any team in the NBA Finals other than the Jazz. I'm not sure what it is but the Pistons just don't do well against the Jazz.

Well since my Bulls are out, i'll go for the Jazz in the playoffs. Carlos Boozer is going to have to come out big in the next round to prevail.

Yeah, the Spurs won. And yeah, they are an excellent team. But rooting for them must be like rooting for Clubber Lang in "Rocky III," or rooting for the Yankees in "Bad News Bears" (the original, of course) or rooting for Goliath in "David and Goliath." They're the NBA neighborhood bullies. They usually win but after seeing the leg kicks, the knees to the groin and cheap shot hip checks, who gives a shit? Go Jazz!

I think the key in the West Finals is play from the forwards. Duncan and Bowen vs. Kirilenko and Boozer. All four are great on the defensive end, and all are key to the offense. Just a feeling I had, probably should have thought this through more, but I don't know. I'll take Jazz v. Cavs in the finals. Upset picks, but who knows. Go Jazz.

Tim Duncan should have been the MVP.

Tim Duncan should have been the MVP. Been listening to the announcer's repetitive, "I can't believe Duncan didn't get MVP consideration," too, eh?

Naw, just watched the game. He's the man. The Big Fundamental.
