Hidden: Chris Berman is annoying: OK, here are your 3 Choices: 1. You get audited by the IRS 2. You have to listen to Chris Berman 3. You get stuck in an elevator with Michael Moore and Rush Limbaugh. How is it this guy still has a job? I wouldnt hire this guy to work at my local PBS station

I think this story was broken last week by ggermanctl@sbcglobal on his blog.

I wish it was something more substantial to talk about, a real story or something. A link to a comment on another message board? Its going to be that kind of Monday? That being said, on to the Anchorman quotes. Hey, you're making me look stupid. Get out of here, Panda Jerk!

Um, Berman may be annoying but he's nowhere near as bad as Mr. Homeboy Stuart Scott, or half of the other dingdongs they have at ESPN. The next time Scott calls Tiger Woods T-Dub I think I'm gonna break my TV. I mean, I was watching the Belmont Stakes the other day and Kenny Mayne was doing his deadpan routine on ABC's pre-race show. It was really pathetic and out of place. That's why I like to check out the Internet for sports scores and roundups. Just the facts, ma'am.

It's called Sex Panther, by Odeon. It's made from bits of real panther, so you know it's good! ...They've done studies you know. Sixty percent of the time, it works everytime.

I thought this story broke 7 years ago...between Berman's "Back Back Bacccck...GONE!" and Scott's "T-Dub" I just go to ESPN news and mute the tv...I can read the stuff...

It smells like a used diaper filled with... Indian food.

Is this even about sports? Talk about a thread that needs to die a quick death.

This is getting to be ri-goddamned-diculous.

I will smash your face into a car windshield, and then take your mother Dorothy Chicobangs out for a nice seafood dinner and never call her again.

I would sooner trim my pubic hair with a chain saw then to listen Chris Berman. My idea of hell would be being trapped in a small room with Berman, Dick Vitel and John Maddon with out an ice pick to stick in my ear.

Berman is torture. He is loaded with useless drivel and sentimental ass kissing. Watching a baseball game with him as the lead mouth is like being trapped in a sweatbox with an insurance selling rabbi.

I like Chris Berman. Love his football wrap on Sunday nights. Who doesn't? I admit he is weak on baseball broadcasts but great on everything else. If I were starting a sports network he would be my point man!

How can any body hate Chris Berman! Between him and Tom Jackson, they make the best tandem in all of sports. Lightman doesn't know what he's talkin about, he must be a tennis or bowling fan..

ESPN, the station is unwatchable, ESPN, the website, is unsurfable (I counted something like 278 links and drop downs on the home page and they have to load each and every time). Berman is annoying, Stuart Scott is an asshole and really, the best thing ESPN had going is now over on MSNBC doing Countdown (though I must say that Olbermann kicks tail as a "real" news guy too).

Berman had his day and yeah, he's past his prime but Espin can't just fire the guy. He's been there 25+ years. He helped start the network and logged a lot of road dog miles in the process. As corporate as the network has become, at least they have some loyalty. He's been given the reigns on NFL GameDay and Primetime and I think he does a pretty bang up job with Tom Jackson and the morning crew. The rest of the time they send him to do crappy MLB games that nobody's listening to anyways- they're on mute at the bar.

he sounds alot like jimminy glick which in and of itself is entertaining but i agree the at he is extremely annoying. as a red sox fan i almost had to turn the sound down when they were in the wildcard series the last couple years. god, please don't let him do it again no matter who is in it.

Boy I agree about the ESPN commentators. Sutton was a good pitcher, but other than that, he's an idiot. Berman calling a home run is sickening. These guys don't know a fuckin' thing about the teams they are covering. I live near Boston, we have NESN, fortunately. Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy make all the national announcers look like kindergartners. And they don't second guess every pitch. They don't harp on pitching 'misstakes.' They know the opposing teams and players. Plus they don't treat the viewers as if the viewers were idiots. They are more interested in calling the call and not with 'show biz,'
