Sounds like this particular defense team is tossing around its own crock.

You're just now hearing this? This is really old news and she has already recanted. Even that happened a long time ago.

This case is scary because it appears to be so cheezy and that the players are getting mauled with so little evidence. When the DNA testing failed that should be, in today's legal climate, the end of the case. The DA was running for office and seemed to be courting the black vote and decided to keep the case going on. There seems to be no real evidence in this case other than sensational allegations that are given credence because the media repeats them over and over. If this case had been a black player and white/hispanic/asian/bulgarian cheerleader victm the case would have been over with the failed DNA test and the same community would be citing racism because he was charged. And the media (mostly ESPN) would be weeping openly at how awful this investigation is. Racism comes in many colors but politicians and journalists seem to only be yellow.

Huh. It's not often you see a concerted effort to extinguish a flame war before it begins. Good looking out for the community. (I feel like a freshman in a senior class all over again.)

Fifthed, with a fifth of whiskey. Let's not talk about this anymore, at least not until there's a verdict we can laud/lament.

someone should start the 'oh my god it is actually HERE' WC thread. Yeah, one that's not about the US for a change. I mean, there are 31 other countries competing too. Go Iran! One thing I'd like to know: are there any live Internet video feeds of the games? That would work on a Mac. Free, or cheap.

I would pull for the Czechs but the hockey team let me down in the olympics. So let's go Togo!!! And if that arena puts on a nice light show, somebody tape it for me.

qbert - the BBC has all its games live online - but I suspect that's only if you're in the UK (in which case you could watch it on a fucking TV anyway so what's the point?). "Zagwari is dead - what does this mean for England, Terry?"
