Hidden: RACE for the mvp: I guess it truly was a close RACE for the MVP award, and with no surprise the LIGHTER breed wins again. I will just ask all you folk reading this, "if Kobe was white and had this type of season would it even be a question of him winning it". Agreed Nash did not have Amare and Kobe had all those spectacular games, but lets really get down to the core level of this award, and the simple fact was the race issue as it relates to this award is "white is RIGHT", and I'm just one folk who disagrees...

Jesus Christ, man, you have one of the greatest pitchers of all time as your handle and you do this to disgrace it? Turn in your jock at the door, son.

*kicks in a door* "Did someone call for the S-Team?" No link, AND an incendiary game of "Let's Play the Race Card" without anything to support your argument anyway. I give this two thumbs down. AND! This is the second time this week you've done this, slick. Do me a favor, next time you feel the need to make a post, send it in an email so we can delete it. Read the guidelines!

Hooray! I usually miss the threads that are written by complete nupmties and then get deleted. I get to see one in all of its glory today.

Since a survey of 75 of the 127 writers and broadcasters who vote for MVP showed Nash with a sizable lead over runner-up LeBron James in the voting, and Kobe not in the top three, methinks maddux is really Mrs. Bryant.

Nash also won in a poll of NBA GMs - or should I say, a poll from the MAN. NBA Basketball - keepin' a brother down!

Also, I have decided that I shall start referring to people exclusively by the precise colour of their skin. "Hey you! Pantone #5035 boy! Yeah, I'm talkin' to you!"

Stupid me I posted a dumb one about Favre last month without a thread and link and some cool guy at headquarters saved me from total emberassment by deleting it why can't they delete this guy's Because its only been 27 minutes. We make sure our robotic cool guys at headquarters give us 30 minutes to berate the poster before they delete it. It's on page 54 of your Sportsfilter Benefits Handbook.

poor maddux. even if 1% of my being agrees with you, just a little bit... you really should at least provide a link to some crazy opinion piece to keep this from happening.

As soon as I heard reports of Nash being named MVP I was waiting for this. So predictable.

maybe if kobe wasn't such a jerk, cheating on mrs.bryant, wanting to throw an elbow into sean elliot's kidney-less side(just a love tap, i'm sure) on sean's return to the game and being a model teammate, i m sure he would win this, but he wont and he'll probably cry about it.

Hey, I think Doc's pantone reference is the second one this year at SpoFi. I remember making one earlier this year, but I can't remember the thread.

I am sure that the fact Kobe is perhaps less likeable than Barry Bonds has nothing to do with it, especially when being compared to a popular, likeable player.

Kobe hasn't LED his team until game 2 of the playoffs. Nash deserved it this year because he produced the top three most improved players... however, i think Steve Nash should be coach of the year, and MVP should go somewhere else. Kobe didn't deserve it for a 7th seed team. Dirk, Nash, or Wade are better choices.

posted by Snikastyle at 04:16 PM on April 27, 2006

i think nash is great, but what the coach/gm did/are doing for the suns is much greater. i say dirk/lebron and kobe in a 3 way tie is about as fair as it could get. and race card? well yea (NOT), considering they just gave avery johnson the coach of the year, when d'antoni did another astonishing job. Avery did amazing too, and they wanted one man. Can't say thats a bad choice... MVP/Coach.... it's one-one for those foolish enough to keep score, and someone pulls the race card!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

i'm just wondering how a socialist like steve nash is allowed into the excited states of america anyway!! damn canadian commie pinkos. ya ever notice steve usually passes to the left??? i'm guessing the guys who voted for my boy stevie don't care what colour he is. i'm thinkin' an nba gm would sign usama if he thought he could block a few shots. us canadian guys gotta stick together. NASH RULES!

posted by tommybiden at 04:34 PM on April 27, 2006

AS much as I'd love to see Kobe win the MVP, I don't think race had anything to do with the decision, as someone already brought up Avery Johnson got the Coach of the year, even though D'antoni or even Phil JAckson could have had the prize!

Dirk's way more Aryan than Nash. Just saying.
