Steve Nash spends endorsement cash on Paraguay hospital: The NBA guard bought a new intensive care post-operative pediatric cardiology ward in the city where his wife grew up.

I hear that in addition to his good works, Steve Nash punches babies and eats kittens. But seriously, good on him. Hopefully a few other big-time pro athletes follow his lead.

Man, and I wasted my money on a KFC Snacker sandwich. Oh well maybe next time. Seriously though, it's good to see a guy who gets those endorsement deals spend it on something for others. Not like a lot of guys who get tons of endorsement money and blow it on a new Bentley every year because last years model is too old.

I hear that in addition to his good works, Steve Nash punches babies and eats kittens. Sounds like he is taking some cues from Greg Maddux. Kidding aside, it's refreshing to hear of this kind of thing and the fact that he didn't call a press conference to announce it. Funny thing too, is that until reading the article I never realized just how absent Steve Nash is from commercials for products other than the NBA. I would have assumed it's because he's a bigger draw in Canada, but it appears that even a Canadian endorsement deal for him is rare. Knowing what I know about Nash, I'm sure this is probably some sort of stand on his part rather than lack of opportunity.

You rock Steve Nash. The league needs more selfless players like you in it.

Steve Nash is the new Greg Maddux. He is above the law. What isn't publicly known about the MDG endorsement contract Nash has is that in addition to hospital wing-building money, he receives live hobos pulled off the streets of Vancouver to hunt at his leisure on his sprawling Pheonix property. Sick bastard loves kids, hates hobos.

I heard he framed OJ, and wrote both the Macarena song and the Chicken Dance. Also, I keep finding stray hairs in my coffee, and I just know it's him.

Man, Steve Nash annoys the piss out of me advertising computers on TV, but damn, that's cool!

Why is this good work by Steve Nash inspiring riffs on his other achievements? Oh, what the hell ... There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Steve Nash allows to live.

Let's be honest here people - Steve Nash doesn't get much air time cuz he got whipped with the ugly stick as a child... Repeatedly. I'm still frightened by the image of the poor kid running point for Santa Clara back when they debuted in the tourney years ago. What was that thing on the side of his head? It's one of lifes great mysteries - gives me nightmares to this day. But seriously, it's true. If he didn't go out of his way to be nice to people, they'd cross the street when they saw him walking their way... But he does know how to handle the rock.

Wow. I saw the MDG ad, and knowing Nash's usual stance towards endorsements, I was really quite surprised to see him. This makes it all clear now.

Let's be honest here people - Steve Nash doesn't get much air time cuz he got whipped with the ugly stick as a child... Repeatedly Hey, if Shawn Kemp and Patrick Ewing can get an endorsement deal, Nashy sure as hell can. I can't believe I'm encouraging this debate. But, I do some women who think he's sexy.

I was thinking about editing the above, but I've decided it reads better without the 'know'.

I imagine he is one of those few prople that can walk around phoenix and no one recignizes him irght off. I mean the man dresses like he waits for sales at Wal Mart he is so low key. Didn't he get voted as NBA's worst dressers?

Actually Weedy, It might not read better without the 'know'... following the path of Logic, the women you do enjoy the Steve Nash kind of look, therefore... well, you see where it leads, right?

But seriously, word to Mr Nash. 'I have been asked a question many a time, "Who is your hero?" I say, my hero does not depend on the position a person occupies. My heroes are those simple men and women who have committed themselves to fighting poverty wherever that is to be found in the world.' - Nelson Mandela

that was a great thing to do we need to start letting the cat out of the bag about alot of players who do the same

Alright, alright, Nash is one of the good ones. Now, get back to the Chuck Norris style posts. That's comedy.

posted by THX-1138 at 04:40 PM on March 16, 2006

we need to start letting the cat out of the bag about alot of players who do the same Steve Nash does not let the cat out of the bag, even if that cat is a lion and the bag is made of wet tissue paper and Steve Nash is standing directly outside of the bag covered in Zebra steaks.

Anyone ever dealt with MDG? I've heard about numerous bad experiences with them, people wondering why Nash endorses their product, the company does a lot of bait-and-switch advertising. Good to know the endorsement money is going to a good cause, however. Hope he wins MVP again.

Steve Nash writes the songs that make the whole world sing. Steve Nash writes the songs of love and special things. Steve Nash writes the songs that make the young girls cry. Steve Nash writes the songs. Steve Nash writes the songs.

I can't live, if living is without Steve Nash. I can't give. I can't give anymore.

posted by chicobangs at 11:32 PM on March 18, 2006

I'm disgusted. I come to this link and see people bitching oh he only gave a little bit. Oh yea, how much is Lebron giving? Kobe? Shaq? Iverson? Pierce? At least this man gave to others. He wasnt all about himself and bought himself a new mercedes. He may have saved someones life and thats not good enough oh no. All I can say is Nash is no where close to being the highest paid basketball player, but from what i know he gives the most money he makes and for that i applaud him.
