This years Tour de France: is shaping up quite nicely and it's nice to see Lance Armstrong being given a run for his money. Tomorrow they head for the mountains for the first time and the race will begin in earnest. Armstrong is expected to attack but several have shown this year that are prepared to race without fear. Watch out for the Colombian, Santiago Botero, he is more than capable of springing a surprise.

Looked like Botero had a mechanical at the critical part of today's stage, which sucked. I'd love to see him up there with Beloki, challenging Armstrong.

I think Armstrong has it in the bag now, unless he falls off. I will keep an eye on Botero though.

Looks to be even more in the bag after today. At least Botero was performing more like he should be today. (Great rider, but I think he managed to lose some climbing greatness in becoming a superlative time-trialist.)
