Lendale White leaving USC: Is Bush the next to go? We'll find out tommorow.

I agree. White is a much better back than people tend to realize due to being overshadowed by Bush. He is a much stronger powerful back than is Bush, and should be better equipped to withstand the abuse at the NFL level. Also he has a suprising burst of speed at the line.

I agree with the above statemnts. White is set up to be a more productive pro back. What is Bush going to do in the pro's play back or receiver? He can't do both.

As I can see a few of you know alittle about football but most of you know SHIT!!! Lendale will be a good pro back as will Reggie as for saying Reggie has no power that is where you are mistaken he can punnish you when you least expect it I have never seen bush take a hard hit he usually is giving one. He will do fine in the big dance as a RB/Reciever out of the backfield he is built just like Tomlinson of the chargers oh and hey they also train together. Well anyways jackasses that can't even spell "College" don't make ASSumptions. They will both have great pro careers.

Great choise Lendale. If Bush gets smart he will do the same thing.......I mean, lets get real here, put down the pom-poms and use common sence. First off, why would any of the college underclassmen who have a shot at making it in the pro ranks risk a career ending injury by staying at Bullshit U. They have more than paid their dues. Their playing ability has put butts in the stands and $$- a lot of money- into the Universitys bank. Think about the unbelievable sweet deal that the NFL has going. They have a "minor league"syatem in place that doesn't cost them a nickle. They get to pick and choose from a fresh crop of talent every year without having to reward the College that fine tuned those skills and helped mature(usually) the draft picks to an acceptable NFL level.Personally,I think the college jocks should get a piece of the action from the millions that they are generating to the Universitys. Seems only fair to me. Or would any of you out there work for the "glory and the education" alone.?Yeah, I didn't think so. The NFL should be licking the college's boots for their unbelievable good luck......!

This will finally let Chauncey Washington (the tailback behind White)have some carries. Chauncey is a very underated tailback. Even though he was in Algebra 1 part one as a senior in high school, doesn't mean he can't run. When he went to South Torrance High, he would score 4-5 touchdowns a game.

I know I'm ranting here but I want to comment also on the same old tired bullshit coming from the clueless group that always say things like; "How dare that thankless kid for not staying and entertaining me more". Or: "damn ingrates, Hell he's getting a free college education, what more does he want." Or; "Did you hear ( fill in a name-it's usually a black kid they're about to dis) being interviewed after the game"? Damn, what kind of major does he have? Freekin dude sounded typically ignorant to me".....You know what, that same idiot that disrespects that kid I can almost 100% guarantee you has never played major college sports-ever! Do they have any idea how much time the programs demand of the athletes? How many times the kid, after twice a day practices, has to sit thru hours of films of upcoming teams or reviews of his flops in the last game. All college athletes have more than paid the U back for the bullshit education they receive. If a few of them are lucky enough to sign a pro contract, then I"m thinking he's pretty well educated....

Lendale has absolutely nothing more to prove at the collegiate level other than the completion of his studies. With his awesome play during the post season, his football stock has risen tremendiously. He has to take advantage of that. Hopefully, some role model with appeal to him to make sure he completes his studies (at his own pace/time if need be) and secure a degree. It will be THAT degree that makes him a role model to his own children, if he fathers any. Good luck Lendale, don't forget where you came from.

I'm not a USC fan by any stretch, but calling them Bullshit U is a real stretch. They've won 34 of their last 35 games, and 2 of the last 3 national championships, not to mention 3 of the last 4 Heismans. And the entire USC offensive line is coming back, so it's not like the team is exactly fading next year. I'm not saying it's a dumb thing for White (or Bush) to declare for next year. (The Jets fan in me wants everyone and their horse to come out for this draft; it increases the odds of my club getting someone good.) But if Reggie Bush decides to stay and actually get his degree, think if how much he'll be The Man, not just on campus, but everywhere. The only three downsides would be not getting that degree, as well as a year's salary (which is nothing), and the possibility of injury (which might be something). I have no doubt that Bush will declare for this year, and really, there's no reason for him not to, but there would be some upside for him if he didn't. Look at Leinart. He understood the upside of not leaving college too soon. Think about this. Would you trade places with Reggie Bush right now? Do you know what kind of fun the highest-profile senior athlete in Los Angeles gets to have before he has to enter the workforce?

The Steelers have a good back in Parker. I see no readson to trade up to get either of these guys. Although I do think White is the better pro type back both will have impacts on Sunday

And I hope Reggie Bush drops to the 6th round so the Pats can pick him there. Still not going to happen.

I think that reggie bush should stay and continue to break records with his speed and his agility.he should stay and shoot for the national championship again and try to win the heisman trophy again,but than again if he stays he might get hurt and not make it the the draft and all of his dreams will be gone.but it dont know i would stay and continue to break 20+ yard runs and be a heisman candidate.what do yall think who will be the first round draft pick out of Reggie Bush,Landale White,Or Vince Young???

Some of you need to read what you write before posting. LenDale has proven himself to be among one of the best backs ever at USC. He has proven that you dont have to win the Heisman to be good. He outrushed Reggie Bush career wise, and scored more touchdowns then any RB ever there. Im glad to see him go early. Gives us a better chance next year to end the losing streak !!

Once again don't open the mouth until the facts are strait he had more touchdowns than bush but bush as the overall yard lead ok so he didn't out rush he out scored reggie. Ok just wanted to get that fact strait. I am glad he is going to the NFL he is a great back as is Bush.

White will do better in the NFL than Bush. White is the best USC back. If the Media would not have jumped on the Bush bandwagon white would have been the Heisman trophy champ and the top pick. Look at their career #'s. both are Juniors and only 10 rush yards seperate them( bush had way more carries). The TD #'s is not even a contest. White blows Bush out of the water. * Bush is over rated. He would not be able to do what he did if he did not play for USC. He had a Heisman winner QB the best line in the NCAA, A TE that will go pro, and a back up RB that was better than him.

I think the Trojans will still be able to contend for a national title, even with White, Bush, and Lienart going pro. Remember, the Trojans won a nation title after Palmer left, and John David Booty is probably better than a vast majority of starting Division One quarterbacks.

He would not be able to do what he did if he did not play for USC. And if my mother had wheels she'd be a bicycle. He certainly benefited from being in a great program, but USC is a great program (to some extent) because they're a great program, which means they can recruit great talent. It's not like they passed on a bunch of people to recruit Bush. He seemed to be pretty good in high school too. Probably just the program.

Alan Iverson couldn't carry the jocks of guys like Jerry West, Bob Cousey, Oscar Robertson, And most of the former NBA greats that played in a much tougher league. Expansion and watered down talent have made the league a shooters showcase where ball handling, passing and defense isn't even encouraged. Throw in the fact that traveling with the ball, palming the ball and 3 second violations are rarely if ever called -unlike the way they were called 10 years ago-and you got Iverson and his look a likes claiming greatness to all that are swooned by the tats or whatever. It's all about showing off and playground rules in the NBA. Don't believe that the avg. basketball fan is fed up with the flophouse called the NBA? Check and see where there attendance numbers really are!

So where will White go in the draft? Ostensibly, a better team than Houston will wind up with him, so he won't have to run behind the swiss-cheese line that Bush will have. If White slips into the middle of the pack, he could wind up in a situation akin to the one in Kansas City, where Larry Johnson made the most of not having to step in on day one.

I had three games rushing for over 200 yards when I was in high school and went D-1AA. It is easy to look good in high school. On most high school teams you don't even have to try out. You just have to be a kid age 14 to 19 that goes to that school. As an 18 year old Tailback I could run over those 15 and 16 year old LBs and DBs all day long. Heck, I might just pull out some of those old tapes tonight to help me feel good about myself.

I am actually surprised at this...I thought he would stay, try and get his name out there a little more, maybe rack up a Heisman, and try to become a #1 pick next year. But, I think it's a good decision. He is definitely recognized enough to be chosen high and given a starting role, or a shot at one. Maybe, by going lower, he will go to a halfway decent team and not be stuck in a major rebuilding situation.
