Hidden: Denver 23, San Diego 7: Is it just me, or is anyone else tired of hearing how great San Diego is? I think this game (against Denver's second team for about half of the game) is a great example of how overrated the Chargers are. They choked way too many times this year, and, no matter how much potential you have, a great team takes care of business. If San Diego was championship material, then they should have proved it on the field. They blew numerous opportunities to do so.

I don't mean to be critical (ok maybe I do) but who cares. This seems to be a "your team sucks" post. They were knocked out of the playoffs last week so this was a completely meaningless game.

San Diego is a "good team" and that's about it. With that secondary and Chokenhiemer that's all they will ever be, until they have a pass defense to match up with the run defense the offense will have to score 40 pts a game, alas there's always next year. As much as i hate to admit it the Bronco's have a great chance to win it all.

all i can say is 2 years ago they were one of the worst teams in the nfl then they had a lucky season and gates was amazing. it would be almost inposible for them to be considered a great team without some more offensive and defensive weapons

we get a lot of charger games on the local cbs here in l.a., much to my chagrin. IMO, i think the chargers have a lot of talent on offense (LT, Gates, brees), and a couple of young studs on D (merriman, castillo, jammer). they aren't great, but i do believe marty holds them back from being better than their record shows. that's coming from a chargers hater.

What skydivemom said. This post is nothing but a way to cast salt into the wounds of the Chargers' fans. The team was eliminated from the playoffs last week. No need to post this now, and hopefully the admins will delete this thread. Barry: As usual you are so wrong. The Chargers are a good team, with many weapons (including a good defense) that plays hard each week. They also play in a tough division.

they have scored over 400 points this year. they do need help in their 2ndary , But they have a great team. they did choke in the games they should have won , but did win when they were expected to lose. and kicked ass doing it. CHARGERS FAN FOREVER , OUT

i am a bronco's fan so i understand completely why rscannix made that post. since the bolts beat the colts every media person has talked like they were the best team in the league despite all their losses. i grew tired of being told that a team that my team beat and had a better record than was a clearly superior outfit. as parcell's says "you are what you are" and san diego is an underachieving non-playoff team and as long as marty's at the helm they will never win a championship.

Now that the Chargers' season has been totally washed out, does this give the San Diego head honchos reason to shop Drew Brees around - knowing what's waiting in the wings? Drew Brees showed much maturity and talent , however, he really didn't get it done. What now? How much blame can we give to Matyr? Oops, I mean Marty?

i am a bronco's fan so i understand completely why rscannix made that post. This site is not a place for trash-talking fans to repeatedly proclaim that their team rocks and someone else’s team sucks. This is what you need to understand about this site.

hey skydivemom, making a comment about the media hyperbole surrounding the chargers is not trash talking. i think they are a talented team and i certainly respect them more than any other afc west team {excepting my own of course}sports fans have passions for their teams and are thus inevitably biased, that does not however invalidate any criticism they may have in regard to a rival team. this is what i would like you to understand.

making a comment about the media hyperbole surrounding the chargers is not trash talking Nor is it worthy of a post on the front page! Listen, basically it's a link to a fucking game recap coupled with the poster's opinion on one of the teams involved in the game to which he linked. Honestly, do you want to check in to SpoFi every day and see one-link post after one-link post, each of which exists only to spout the same rah-rah or your-team-is-overrated bullshit you can hear by tuning in to your local sports talk radio? Read the guidelines for new users again, friends, then give it another shot.

Then post an article about the media not a game recount about a game that was completely meaningless. Who is to even say the Chargers tried in the game.

weirdguy and skydivemom, i agree the link is basically worthless. i was commenting on the post and offering opinion related to it. i thought this site was designed to promote discussion and debate and was just attempting to join in. perhaps you are more interested in the quality of the link as opposed to the opinions of other posters, and that is fine. i just enjoy offering and receiving feedback and engaging in sports related debate, even if it does sometimes regress to "ha ha, my team beat your team"

Not a worthwhile link. Deleted.
