Old Man on Campus: Jim Harper, the fourth-string tight end for the Millsaps College Division III football team, is a 48-year-old who had eligibility left after a 27-year absence from the school. His effort to finish what he started has inspired me to return to Yale Elementary in Richardson, Texas, to earn my Webelos badge.

I think that is a great story. Just because your starting to grey at the temples doesn't mean you can't crack some skulls with the kids. Good for him!!!!

Where is George Foreman when you need him? Good luck Jim.

Fellow Yale alum here, rcade. For first grade, anyhow. Just long enough to be able to say, "I went to Yale."

Harper started one season as a Millsaps football player in 1978. That year, President Carter occupied the White House, the Internet didn't exist Incorrect. Otherwise, a great read.

Good luck on your quest, rcade. I think it's well worth the time spent, because, as you know ... Webelos wobble, but they don't fall down.

Thank God for Jim Harper. For once, a sports story that doesn't involve gamblimg, drinking, or spousal abuse! Good show!

But does he get the girls? All the girls in the faculty lounge are totally hot for him.

rcade, if you couldn't get your badge then what makes you think now will be any different (asked the proud posessor of a webelos badge)?
