Pistons know how to climb out of holes.: A quick review of the Piston's chances in game 6 and in the series over-all. They could still Win.

I agree, they could still win. If anybody has proven that its detroit. I look forward to a close game tonight, but if the SPURS can play good transition defense, and get some help from the bench its going to be tough for detroit. Especially if they get good contributions from the Big 3.

For Detroit to win , Rasheed Wallace has to score at least 20 pts, along with Rip. Its pretty evident that Billups will get his.

Oops...meant to put this on the other basketball thread...heh heh heh. Sorry.

I hope this game is as good as the last. I just wish that the TNT team could cover these games. I'm sick to death of Bill Walton and that Steve guy who always yells at the camera... I purposefully try to block their collectively asinine commentary out of my mind..

The Pistons could win, but taking two in San Antonio seems like a near-insurmountable obstacle. They're too good to let down that much.

I would love to see the Pistons win a close game tonite followed by a great game 7 overtime classic that comes down to the wire and is won by blocking a dunk in the final second. You know...the kind of defining game that will give the winners of this years NBA round robin classic a legacy that will endure forever...or at least as long as that of the 2004 Arena Football Champs (whatever their name was...) But, I cannot take another minute of Bill Walton's 'insights' and witty repartee, so GO SPURS!

Shut the fuck up about that stupid site. No one cares and I hear we bring negative Google page rank to all links that appear here.

Well "sheed" came through down the stretch when it counted and with 5 fouls. "Big shot Bob" was no where to be found. Now its anybody's series.!

Someone first started noting it in the other thread about game 6 & Robert Horry, but yes:

  • Pistons margin of victory: 9 points
  • Robert Horry's output: 8 points
  • Robert Horry's game 5 output: 21 points
  • Drop off from game 5 to game 6 for Robert Horry: 13 points
  • Theoretical score if Robert Horry doesn't let his team and the fans down in a critical game: 99-95, Spurs win the Finals.
So, the lesson kids, is that Robert Horry cannot be counted on in the clutch. When a big game was needed to be won, Robert Horry choked and could not contribute meaningfully to his team. This is the antithesis of the Hall of Fame player who elevates, not lessens, their game in the playoffs. Hey- live by the sword, die by the sword... :)

I think I speak for many SpoFite readers when I say, "Huh?!"

Where it says (post deleted), there used to be something much more fun.

...and by "much more fun," you of course mean "comment spam." Hal, the reason Horry took the game off is a simple one. Game 6 of the NBA Finals, when your team is down by four with two minutes left in the game, is not a clutch situation. Maybe a similar situation in Game 7 would become "clutch." Maybe not. The Riddle of the Horry is a difficult nut to crack.

I seem to recall Horry making a basket in the fourth quarter. Or maybe it was the third. Is that "clutch"?
