Surprising?: Maybe that is doesn't happen more often. Have you ever seen a game delayed/cancelled/altered because of entertainment?

Sure it wasn't a Baby Ruth? Where was Carl Spackler?

Ah, it was a seeing eye dog in a charity ceremony. You can't really get all that mad at anyone. Sounds like everyone had a decent laugh about it, at least.

Sounds like everyone had a decent laugh about it, at least. I don't know... I'll bet the towel boys were like "this is NOT in my job description."

I don't know... I make a living (for the time being) picking up dog shit (you know, as I walk them). I think I'd rather do what I do than sweep up Shawn Bradley's sweat with towels. After all, at least I get to use plastic baggies.

Speaking of the crappy play of the NBA -- look at the scores from last night: Orl. 103 - Det. 101 Den. 116 - Sea. 110 (OT) Dal. 137 - Was. 120 Sac. 113 - Por. 107 (OT) Ind. 87 - Hou. 74 Only the Houston-Indiana game looked like a real snoozer, in terms of overall points or closeness of outcome. And Dallas dropped 137 on the Wizards -- wow. I can't find any more recent statistics, but remembers reading earlier in the season that average team scoring was up about 4-5 points per game over last year. So maybe things are trending in the right direction.

Or nobody's playing defense.

Dallas had 73 points at halftime, and Washington scored 42 in the 4th quarter. Looking at the box score, two things stand out: good percentage on three-pointers and made free throws. Defense or not, that's some good shooting, although the steals and blocks categories do look a little bare.

Will someone explain to me why high scores are a good thing in basketball? There's already far too much scoring for basketball to be of interest to me. I mean, 137 points? Where's the interest in that? Isn't that a score just about every possession? ZZzzzz...

I don't know that higher scores are always a good thing, but I prefer a faster paced game with more end-to-end action than a plodding, half-court game.

Because a high-scoring game is beautiful to watch. Speed, accuracy and lots of passing.

a high scoring game can indicate accurate shooting and lots of fast break action. nothing wrong with that. how about antoine walker missing the one he needed to make and making the one he needed to miss the other night?

It's good when you're a Mavs fan, sal ;) I think Washington's 42 in the 4th was mainly due to Howard and Dampier sitting on the bench, since they're still both about 75% max right now. how about antoine walker missing the one he needed to make and making the one he needed to miss the other night? Typical Walker style, gspm. My Mavs buddies and I have taken to calling Stackhouse "lil 'Toine" this year. Pity too, since I cracked wise that it's a shame he's not shooting lights out this year and we could call him "the answer"....you know, b/c he's #42... Seeing Jamison play last night made it more painful. I sure hope Devin Harris winds up making that deal worthy. Soon.

who cares i hate the mavs but its cool to see fast break games instead a slow game with no one passin the ball around. i love this sport more than football sometimes b/c of fast breaks scoring. i would say the nfl and nba is the top sport fuck the sissy girls in mlb baseball is for pussys

dhdefrag3x, your ideas on baseball and pussy intrigue me. Do you have some sort of newsletter that I can subscribe to?

That's actually the plot of "A League Of Their Own" in ten words. Crude, but nice.
