I don't want coaches to reveal their votes. I want a playoff. All of these incremental reforms to the BCS just delay the inevitable change to a playoff.

Anyone catch JoPa on ESPN talking about the hypocracy of the NCAA when they try and claim that they can't do a playoff system because it would keep the kids out of classes, but seem to have no trouble with weeknight games just so ESPN can show a game? He didn't pull any punches. As for the news that the AP is tellign the BCS to cease and desist, I think it is great.

The other divisions already have playoffs, why not Division I-A? Plus the bulk of the games, if not all of them, would be played while the school's still on break. Even if they were played after schools are back in session, it's not like the first week or two of classes are that important anyway.

...talking about the hypocracy of the NCAA. If you talk about the NCAA it's a tough issue to avoid. ...it's not like the first week or two of classes are that important anyway. Let's be honest, it's not as if any of their classes are that important. Half these kids won't graduate (in six years) anyway.

Phosita, an IP law blog, has an interesting analysis of the questionable copyright assertion by the AP. Darn you, danostupostar, for beating me to the FPP.

Let's be honest, it's not as if any of their classes are that important. Half these kids won't graduate (in six years) anyway. This is true even with some of the ridiculously easy majors some of these kids have. A playoff is the only way a true college football national champion will be decided. The minds that came up with the BCS certainly could think up the best way to have a football playoff. And if its money the BCS-NCAA folks are worried about, they could even include some of the bowls along the playoff route.

I have to agree with you all, a playoff system is truly the only way to go. Forget what classes whoever might be taking, there all to wasted to worry about them in the first place. It's a sad sad day now that MONEY runs college sports.
