Lakers looking at Coach K?: We've heard just about every scenario involving the Lakers, inventive or ridiculous. But Coach K? This is from waaay out of left field.

Izzo I could understand, but Coack K? This just floored me when I read this. Even though I despise Duke, I don't want to see him leave the Blue Devils.

To me, Coach K going pro is a lot like Bob Knight going pro. They're both college ball institutions. Imagine if he takes the job, flops, gets fired, and comes back to college ball. Can you imagine him coaching anyone besides Duke? I can't. Although now that I've typed that, it does seem like Duke is the LA Lakers of the college basketball world. Kinda makes sense for him to go to LA.

The last time Koach K took a leave of absence to recover from back surgery the Blue Devils went 4-15. This Terps fan says "head west, Duke man." ;)

Doesn't Coach K have a lifetime contract at Duke? I don't see this happening either. If he left, it'd be one of the worst backstabbings in College Hoops history, and much as I don't like Duke, I just can't see K doing that.

Maybe Dawkins will get his due? Question to duke fans, if he does leave, will Johnny get the job or will they search elsewhere (Amaker perhaps?). As a UNC fan, there's nowhere I'd rather see Coach K than in LA.

I seem to remember Kobe considering Duke before deciding on going pro.... As an aside, I've also read Michigan State Coach Tom Izzo's name bandied about.
