'Stros trade Hildago (+$4m) to the Mets for Weathers: Mets get a big bat and the Astros rid themselves of someone who had "fallen out of favor" with Manager Jimy Williams. Any Houston fans out there want to give us the inside dirt on why Jimy doesn't like Hildalgo?

holy crap, Hidalgo makes 12 and 15 million? No wonder the Astros were so happy to get rid of him. If he can just improve a bit with every day play though, this does look good for the Mets.

I'm glad he's out of Houston. Hildago had a knack for hitting long ball against my Brewers. And Houston really could use some help in their relief corps.

Weathers is a good pitcher. He has his offs days, but he'll help the 'Stros. I'm most pleased that the Mets didn't give up any youth in the trade. As long as they hold on to any player under 25, I'll be okay with trades. Be sellers, please be sellers!

Great deal for the Astros. Even though they had to send 4 million with Hidalgo, they unloaded a ton of money.

Hidalgo has certainly not been hitting like a $12 million outfielder, certainly not at .256/.309/.412 with 4 homers, the last being on APRIL 13!!! That said, he's shown enormous talent, and although Weathers is a serviceable middle reliever, Houston probably got shafted. I guess that's what happens when you sell low. I do agree with rocketman, tho - it's nice to have Hidalgo out of the Brewers' division.

86: "Mets triple-A pitcher Jeremy Griffiths has been told he was included in the trade with Houston."
