Good for him.

I'm not sure what two months salary is for him, but its worth it for someone that looks like her. My lord.

That's so sweet. She looks a lot like Gena Lee Nolan.

posted by jerseygirl at 01:31 AM on November 29, 2003

It's very sweet ... dating for two years? I don't even remember Tiger out schlepping around before that. Was he a monk or something? Of course, this means great things for the rest of the PGA Tour. As any married man can tell you, Tiger will never get to go out and play golf unless the trash is out, the garage is clean, the lawn is mowed ...

posted by wfrazerjr at 08:52 AM on November 29, 2003

Unlike any married man, Tiger pays someone else to do that ... LOL

jerseygirl, good eye: Elin Nordegren and Gena Lee Nolan ... separated at birth?

posted by msacheson at 11:29 AM on November 29, 2003

No wonder Vijay won more money this year. She stole his mojo!

Do you think she will sign a pre-nup? :)

posted by aacheson at 09:20 PM on November 29, 2003

If you look at how Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi performed after they got married, had kids, and how this could work equally well for Tiger, then it's going to look really scary for Tiger's opponents. Maybe I can dance at Elin's bacholerette party. Hahahahaha.

posted by worldcup2002 at 09:53 PM on November 29, 2003

Didn't Agassi suck (in comparison to how he normally is/was) while married to Brooke Shields?

posted by jerseygirl at 11:29 PM on November 29, 2003

Did I hear that Nomar and Mia just tied the knot last week as well?

posted by vito90 at 10:01 AM on November 30, 2003

jersey: Anybody would suck when married to Brooke. ;-) I'm talking about after Agassi got married to Steffi and had the kid. Oldest ATP #1. Man! And Sampras was awesome in that US Open win when his wife was pregnant. The thing is, these guys are "old" and Tiger is really only getting started. And this is golf we're talking about here. Not exactly the most demanding physical sport, no? And weren't Arnie and Jack both married at their prime? Go, Tiger, go! (on the course, I mean.)

Vito: Yes. And let's just say that the future Mrs. Woods is unlikely to be photographed quite as lusciously as she was in those linked by msacheson. *teardrop*

Well. Now I can envy him for his looks, talent, success, money AND wife. Sonofabitch!

posted by billsaysthis at 11:14 AM on December 01, 2003

JG, are YOU saying you don't think Tiger is good-looking? I thought that was an accepted fact in femaledom.

posted by wfrazerjr at 11:32 AM on December 01, 2003

I've never met a chick who honestly thought Tiger Woods was hot.

posted by jerseygirl at 11:53 AM on December 01, 2003

All your girlfriends are lesbians? Even I think Tiger is hot! Did I say that out loud?

posted by worldcup2002 at 12:15 PM on December 01, 2003

SpoFi: Tiger is HOT!

posted by worldcup2002 at 12:16 PM on December 01, 2003

Please return to the nearest petroleum distribution facility and request detailed directions to find your way back to the clearly designated and preferred route. I wonder if Jesper took her out for a test drive? You don't waste that talent level on in-house baby-sitting.

posted by garfield at 12:26 PM on December 01, 2003

Yes, he's hot. But not in a traditional model type sense. When he smiles, wow....he has an amazing smile. He has an astounding body with wide shoulders and is very very fit. He dresses well. Mostly though, it's that smile. Boy howdy!

posted by aacheson at 12:27 PM on December 01, 2003

i'm not a big fan of tiger. just doesnt do it for me. ... no. tom brady, andy roddick, a-rod, assorted other baseball players... yes.

posted by jerseygirl at 12:29 PM on December 01, 2003

ok, at least aa chimed in for another chick's perspective. cool. now i feel like the female SF somehow... you know, but without all the beer and harlots.

posted by jerseygirl at 12:33 PM on December 01, 2003

It's actually quite interesting to hear the female spofi opinion. For exmaple, A.Roddick was a complete surprise. Doesn't he still have braces? And aa's 'hot' comment cemented male insecurities everywhere, untraditionally transforming the concept of hot to include 'nice smile' and 'dresses well.'

posted by garfield at 12:44 PM on December 01, 2003

i kind of agree with aacheson. it's the smile that does it. (and i'd put him in the "cute" column, not "hot") certainly not at the top of my list, but there nonetheless.

posted by goddam at 12:49 PM on December 01, 2003

'dresses well' counts a lot more than you know. that's not to rule out jeans, t-shirt and a well worn baseball cap. and obviously, what i look for in normal guys is a bit different than what turns my head in "celeb" guys. i didnt like andy roddick until he hosted SNL. Honestly? He's cute, but his personality was awesome and he was funny, so that put him on the radar.

posted by jerseygirl at 01:21 PM on December 01, 2003

I've always been called 'cute', and I've always wanted to be 'hot'. What is the difference? and where can I buy one? Atleast I know my jeans, tee, and cap still work on the general female population. because i can't bring myself to 'dress well'.

posted by garfield at 02:02 PM on December 01, 2003

I'm too pretty, lots of people think I'm gay, when really that all depends on the money. But shit, you won't hear me complain.

posted by WeedyMcSmokey at 02:39 PM on December 01, 2003

I have a good personality. Does that count? *sob*

and intelligence, and common sense. Those too. I could make a 10 point list of important guy qualities. and a decent grasp of pop culture reference. i want to randomly say a Simpsons or movie quote and get some laughs.

posted by jerseygirl at 04:23 PM on December 01, 2003

10 point list, then laughs. please.

posted by garfield at 04:33 PM on December 01, 2003

You don't need a 10-point list! I should just post my picture. All answers will be revealed. I am what they call in the industry*, as "having the goods", or more succinctly, "the package". *that would be, the meat-packing industry Hahahahaha.

Package picture or not (please not), Tiger's got nothing on you in the fucked off department.

I can't believe I geeked all this by asking if jgirl thought Tiger was hot. Hilarious. Now, of course ... we need a top 10 hottest women in sports. I'm not allowed to participate, as I still think Tonya Harding is smokin'. All your girlfriends are lesbians? All your lesbian are belong to us.

posted by wfrazerjr at 05:48 PM on December 01, 2003

dusted: I am truly tops in the f'd off dept. (At least senior middle manager level.)

wfrazer: I don't know about the hottest women in sports, but I think the Hottest women in SportsFilter are: aacheson (I'm actually lucky to have met her) jennyb (for a brief shining moment, she showed us her cute button nose and glasses ... and teeth!) jerseygirl (because she does Pilates and puts up with me) goddam (I only realized today, in this thread, that she is a woman. I'm only going by what she's saying -- and her profile -- but goddam!) ... erm, actually these are the only women I know of in the SpoFi. Gosh, there have to be at least ten? I cannot go any further. I feel a controversy coming on.

I still think Tonya Harding is smokin'. posted by wfrazerjr at 5:48 PM Dude. You are so right on. She would be at the top of my list. Just imagine that ride! Hottest women in sports has to include the William's sisters (Serena's assets give her a slight nod) and maybe Monica Seles. And although pro wrestling is not a sport per se, some of those wrestlers are off the charts. They could crack (wal)nuts between those cheeks. I think playing sports makes women sexy. I even think Lindsay Davenport is sexy! I mean shit what an athlete!

Gentlemen and ladies, is it time to bring back the interviews? goddam, yes! goddam! I wonder who my next interviewee should be? goddam! It's right on the tip of my tongue ...

posted by goddam at 11:26 AM on December 02, 2003

Only if you want to, goddam. You can scroll down this list and read (find!) the thirteen Locker Room interviews I've done so far, including ones with aacheson, jerseygirl, and jennyb. If you're in, just say the word (here in this thread) and I'll set it up in the locker room. btw, back on topic. When is Tiger getting married? What should he wear?

posted by worldcup2002 at 12:16 PM on December 02, 2003

goddamn, DON'T DO IT! DON'T DO THE INTERVIEW! Step AWAY from the keyboard. Trust me. :) Guys, you'd be amazed at what a little nice dressing will do. As JerseyGirl said, it doesn't mean that the baseball cap and jeans isn't nice, but it means a lot to see a guy acually put some thought into what they look like. We put way too much thought into it all the time and it's a "given" that we look put together-but guys can look like shit and it's the norm (See all the fat slobby guy/hot wife shows on TV these days.) Hey Garfield, maybe dressing nicely occasionally would put you over into the "hot" field! It's a thought...it can't hurt. Never underestimate a nice pair of tailored pants.....

posted by msacheson at 12:19 PM on December 02, 2003

ok, i'm in.

posted by goddam at 12:26 PM on December 02, 2003

God DAMN IT. Marc and I have to start logging off after visiting SpoFi. I keep posting as him. I posted the above, not msacheson. Although I know he doesn't underestimate a nice pair of tailored pants either...

Awww, it wasn't that bad, was it? The interviews, I mean. I thought it was a lot of fun. And I always wore nicely tailored pants. btw, aacheson, I hope I looked halfway decent when you and msacheson came over. I was feeling a little under the weather, but I think I still wore nice pants. (Good thing I got rid of the baseball cap ...)

goddam, the interview is up. Go to it!

I wondered when someone would post pictures of Geena Davis. Rawr. I think we need a once-a-month survey question, i.e. who is the hottest female (or male) athlete, blah blah blah .... I think it would be interesting to post the results in a simple format, and the best rationale for each of the top votegetters. It could be done as a column or something ... hell, I don't know ... it's production day here at the newspaper and nowall I can think about is Geena and female archers.
