Barring injury and the folly of youth, the AFC East got more competitive last night.

Last night was one of those nights when the batteries in the remote could wear out in one evening. I had the Bruins on NBC Sports as my main viewing. At the commercial breaks and intermissions I had to check the odd half inning of the Red Sox vs Tigers. Throw in an occasional peek at Spurs vs Nuggets on TNT, supplement all this with the NFL draft, and the remote was having a busy night. I didn't see any of the Blues vs Stars game, but any one-goal game in the playoffs should be a good one. Game 1 of Bruins vs Blue Jackets makes it look like there will be some nasty moments before it's done.

In the battle of the NFL draft experts:

Mike Mayock's Raiders picked Clelin Ferrell at No. 4.

Mel Kiper had Ferrell going to New England 28 picks later.

When Oakland picked Ferrell, I had Mayock's call of Marshawn Lynch's legendary touchdown run against the Saints echoing through my brain. The one where he sent Tracy Porter into a different area code.

"Are you kidding me? Get off me!"

But it's OK, the pick didn't ruin my day, I don't care what the Raiders do. But it sure bothered the heck out of a lot of folks on social media.

I don't know why Mayock didn't complete the daily double and package Clelin and Derek Carr in a trade to the Giants for Daniel Jones. If that had happened, we would not be enjoying reliable internet service today.

How excited are Toronto fans about Vlad Guerrero Jr's debut?

They gave him an ovation for fielding a foul ball. When he tossed it into the stands, there was a dogpile of people trying to get it.
