The most meaningless MLB game last season was on September 15th between the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles.

This was determined by a fantastic bit of research that was posted on Reddit.

It took into account the following factors:

- Nothing for either team to play for
- No farewell tour in front of home crowds
- No players competing for major awards
- No managers competing for MoY
- No positive franchise records being pursued
- No MLB debuts
- No notable personal performances
- Fewer than 10 rookies playing

NFL has a new Looney Rule that governs league hiring practices.
