Congrats to Greg Knox for delivering Miss. State a bowl win over Louisville as the interim coach after Dan Mullen's departure.

Wishing Coach Knox well in the future, as he hasn't been assured that he'll have a job under incoming Coach Moorhead, and he hasn't been asked to join Mullen's staff in Florida as expected. Hopefully, he will lock down a good job somewhere worthwhile.

Also, MSU's Keytaon Thompson is a talented freshman QB and an impact player. The portions of the game I saw, he looked better to me than Lamar Jackson. Almost as athletic, but more physically imposing. Guys were bouncing off of Thompson and getting hurt.

Lord knows I hate those shiny metallic helmets. Louisville and Washington were sporting them today. Louisville teams have a special knack for doing the ugly, featuring a wince-inducing menu of Victorian whorehouse color schemes. The MSU helmets had a battle-burnished matte surface with barely a hint of sheen. They looked worn smooth like vintage Bakelite. That's a helmet.
