I just want to get this straight:

  • the commissioner during the "Steroid Era" has been elected to the baseball HOF (Bud Selig)
  • presidents of teams during the "Steroid Era" have been elected to the HOF (John Schuerholz)
  • general managers during the "Steroid Era" have been elected to the HOF (Pat Gillick)
  • managers during the "Steroid Era" have been elected to the HOF (Bobby Cox, Tony La Russa)
  • reporters during the "Steroid Era" have been elected to (a wing of) the HOF (too many to list)

Essentially every single level of baseball that knew there were PEDs in the game, kept quiet about PEDs in the game, and profited from having PEDs in the game, have been honoured with a place in the baseball hall of fame...except one.

But the players that are accused of/found using the PEDs are the ones that get to be banished from the HOF (by the last group I listed above).
