Holly Holm Knocks Out Ronda Rousey in Huge UFC Upset: Holly Holm knocked out Ronda Rousey to take the UFC women's bantamweight championship in Melbourne, Australia, Saturday night. Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports called it "arguably the biggest upset in UFC history" and said Rousey "was never in the fight." Vegas took a big hit on the fight after giving Holm bettors 6-to-1 odds.

The Ronda Rousey hype train just totally derailed in Australia.

Holly Holm's takedown defence was good enough and then striking technique was more than Rousey could handle.

Rousey refused to touch gloves before the bell, which is entertaining the fans of schadenfreude.

The knockout in slomo. Ouch. Where that kick lands under the ear. Is that where Phillip Hughs got hit by the cricket ball that killed him?

No, that was in Sydney.

Yes, behind the left ear.

A brutal beat down, Holm kept beating her to the punch. Can't understand why Rousey tried to go toe to toe with her instead of dancing around like she normally does. Holm has been the womens champion in her weight class in both boxing and kickboxing. Going to be an interesting rematch.

You could almost hear the groan from the UFC bigwigs and the producers of this movie.

The UFC might be trying to say that the rematch will be huge (and it will be), but Rousey as an undefeated champ was promo gold for them. Maybe Holm can be as charismatic as Rousey, but that's to be seen...

Rousey has apparently been dropped from the prospective Trump SEAL team roster.
