So, here I am awake far too early on a Sunday morning.
I'm heading off to the TV room to go watch the gold medal game.

I can't really seem to generate a "hate" for the Swedes.

USA? No problem.
Russia? Almost genetically designed to do so.

Sweden? I guess I can watch "the Forsberg" from back in 1994. Let's see if I can churn that in to a bit of spite.

We've got some larger font conveniently located to the north and west if the need arises.

*sigh* What could've been for the Finns had Tukka Rask not been sick for their semifinal game against Sweden.

I'm wondering what the Swedes would've been like with Sedin, Zetterberg and Backstrom.

You could say the same about the Canadians with Stamkos and Tavares - nobody was playing with a full deck, although the Canadians certainly have the depth to absorb key injuries.

Finns were by far the toughest opponent for Canada this year. Although Kristers Gudlevskis' Tretiak impersonation was brilliant.

Exactly. The Canadians - at forward/defense at least - could handle injuries probably better than almost any other team in the tournament. Sweden being down three centres is pretty huge. Would be like Canada losing their top two goalies.

Not that I'm complaining. Always nice to win gold.

Tukka must have opened his mouth in the shower and drank some of the black water.
