Cowboys Stadium Renamed AT&T Stadium: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced that the team's $1.2 billion stadium is now known as AT&T Stadium. Terms were not disclosed, but the telecommunications giant based in Dallas likely will fork over $400 million (20 years) to $600 million (30 years), estimated Marc Ganis of SportsCorp Ltd. Five percent of the deal will be shared with Arlington, whose taxpayers forked over $325 million of the cost to build the city-owned facility.

Finally the Cowboys will have enough money to field a competitive team.

I've been an AT&T customer. The Dallas secondary is screwed, because this guarantees that their coverage is going to suck.

The rich get richer. Maybe they can start looking for a real quarterback in waiting since Tony Romo's 33 years old.

You mean Jerry's relenting and hiring a decent GM and letting football-knowledgeable people run the team? I thought this discussion thread was about the renaming of Cowboys Stadium.

The Associative Principle: Municipal Priorities Edition

From the post title copy:
Five percent of the deal will be shared with Arlington, whose taxpayers forked over $325 million of the cost to build the city-owned facility.

From the Star-Telegram:
AT&T is also enhancing the Cowboys' mobile app with maps and wayfinding information to improve the fan experience on game days.

From a Suite 101 article called "Quick Facts About Cowboys Stadium":
Unfortunately, at present Arlington Texas has no public transportation.

The 'boys now have funds to hire a real gm, sign an nfl caliber qb, and maybe even a coaching staff whose mandate is to field a competitive team.

.. more likely Jerry will just use the money for more cosmetic surgery and continue down the same old path.
